Upgrades and repairs: in process. Target: will be destroyed, at all costs!
~ Cloak-Bot vows revenge on Anne.

Cloak-Bot, also known in some media as Silver Frobot. is a major antagonist in Season 3 of the Disney Channel animated series Amphibia. It is a Stealth-class Frobot that was sent to Earth by King Andrias to eliminate Anne Boonchuy. It serves as the main antagonist of the first half of Season 3a.

It was voiced by Troy Baker, who also voiced Captain Grime in the same series, Two-Face and Arkham Knight in the Batman: Arkham series, Joel Miller in The Last of Us series, Joker in Batman: Arkham Origins, Delsin Rowe in inFamous: Second Son, Erron Black and Shinnok in Mortal Kombat, Revolver Ocelot in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Magni in God of War (2018), Higgs in Death Stranding, and Simon Krieger in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Appearance[]

This Frobot is painted silver and blue-gray, is tall and thin for urban mobility, has eight razor-sharp claws attached to two long arms, and has three toes on each leg. It has an inverted horn on the top of its head and its optics are red. He has tubes on the sides of his torso, two of which are mounted next to what appears to be a green light on the left, and has two large darker shoulder pads. This robot is equipped with long, strong legs and is quite tall, as it is taller than full grown human adults.

After being repeatedly damaged by Anne and Plantars, the Cloak-bot replaced its broken parts with building materials and other things. He has metal plates on the left side of his face, his left eye is cracked and has a tire in place of the right shoulder plate. Since his left arm was severed, the robot replaced it with the claws of an excavator. The robot also replaces its right leg with a jigsaw and has a nail gun on its back.

Personality[]

Like Frobo, this robot exhibits some form of intelligence, as it can laugh or make cheeky remarks to its enemies. However, his intelligence has limits, as shown by his difficulty understanding King Andrias' command to get potato chips. However, unlike Frobo, the robot is programmed to be very ruthless and even somewhat brutal. The Cloak-Bot is also very dangerous, as it is willing to kill anyone who opposes destroying Anne and the Plantars (including the Boonchuys). He is very loyal to King Andrias and is willing to sacrifice himself to achieve his goal and destroy all his enemies.

Powers and Abilities[]

True to its name, the Cloak-Bot primarily uses a stealth mode, which is an active camouflage which can hide itself from plain sight on Earth while walking around during daylight. However, magnets can affect the camouflage systems and anything on it, which could cause it to be exposed even when it was using that function. Its left claw could change into a plasma-based weaponry. It also has impressive strength, as it can easily break cars when jumping on them. When it got badly damaged, it could do self-repair by using its claws, which acted like blow torches.

Biography[]

In "The New Normal", Andrias sends the drone to Earth to find Anne and kill her. At the market, the drone uses its cloaking ability to attack Anne and the Plantars, but they fight back discreetly. Eventually, Anne unleashes her blue gem energy after the Plantars are in danger and destroys a section of the drone as it flees. The drone is last seen atop of a tower while making repairs to its body and decides to double its efforts in killing Anne at all costs.

In "Fight at the Museum", the robot finds a way to track Anne through a transmission tower. It is able to locate Anne at the museum and attacks her and the Plantars. They manage to defeat it and cut one of its arms off. However, it escapes after being spot by Dr. Jan and some security guards. In "Temple Frogs", it is able to track Anne at the Thai Temple and sends some mini robot bug drones to attack her. However, Anne, the Plantars, Anne's parents, and all the people at the temple work together and defeat the robots.

By the time of “Anne-sterminator”, it has rebuilt himself, but modernized itself with Earth gadgets, including a buzzsaw, excavator claw, and rivet gun. Andrias soon communicates with it and learns that Cloak-bot not only failed to get volume 2 of the Cynthia Coven series, and had also failed to kill Anne, but was also unable. Angered by this, Andrias activates Cloak-bot’s self-destruct mode and orders him to eliminate Anne within one hour, or it will be killed in the timed explosion. Cloak-bot soon discovers the signal of the recently repaired Frobo and finally finds the Boonchuy resident. After the Plantars and Boonchuys escaped from it to a junk yard, the two families first deceived it with dummies that looked like Anne then sneak-attacked it. However, it fought back hard and nearly killed Anne. Thankfully, Mrs. Boonchuy ferociously fights back in her defense, and both her and Anne manage to critically damage it. However, it then intends to kill them in the explosion caused by its imminent self-destruct sequence, only to be kicked into space by a Calamity-powered Anne, where it safely explodes, killing it at last. Regardless, his final attack on Anne attracts two FBI agents and its right arm is left in the junkyard.

In "Spider-Sprig", one of its arms is found by a man named Robert Otto who uses it to attack Sprig as revenge for stealing his spotlight as town hero. Otto would later use it repair the damage that he and Sprig cause while fighting.

In "Escape to Amphibia", Mr. X and Jenny later show images of him attacking Anne and the Plantars to their Superior.

In "All In", when Grime, Sasha Waybright, General Yunan, and Lady Olivia boarded the castle to shut down the forcefield and free Marcy from The Core's influence, a trio of Cloak-Bots appeared and attack the group, with Yunan and Olivia staying behind to hold them off. It is unknown what happen to the Cloak-Bots afterwards, although they were presumably destroyed.
