	~ The Clock Tower

The Clock Tower is a minor character in the Epic Mickey franchise, serving as the first boss of Epic Mickey and its remake, Epic Mickey: Rebrushed.

He was once the façade of "It's a Small World" created by the Mad Doctor; but he went insane because of the "It's a Small World" playing over and over and over. Now he can't stop himself from smashing anyone who approaches him in his madness.

Biography

Past

Not much is known about his past, although in the digicomics, and like the Clocktower Cleaners, this suggests that the Clock Tower was, at one point, a sane citizen of wasteland but was driven mad by the song "It's a Small World" playing in an endless loop.

Epic Mickey

When Mickey arrives at the Clock Tower's arena, the smiling yellow face of the Clock Tower will thin out, revealing a purple face with a toothy, twisted, and deranged grin, and the Clock Tower's arms burst out from either side of it shortly after.

Strategy

• Mickey can use Paint to freeze the Clock Tower's arms. In Rebrushed, he instead paints the thinned parts of the arms. Once both arms are fully painted, the Clock Tower will lower the arm that was painted last to Mickey's level, allowing him to jump onto the hand. The hand will move Mickey close to the Clock Tower's twisted face, allowing him to spray Paint on the face, subsequently restoring the Clock Tower to his normal self and lowering Mickey to the Projector Screen to Mean Street. This action increases Mickey's Paint capacity, and earns him the Stop the Music Pin.

• Mickey can use Thinner to strip away at the Clock Tower's hands, revealing his robotic fingers. When he tries to crush Mickey again, the hands will shatter and Mickey will have to repeat for the other, then deal with the forearms. Alternatively, the forearms can be thinned first, taking the hands with them. Upon defeat, the Clock Tower's face and arms fall off into the Thinner river, where Mickey can use the arms and face as platforms to get to the Mean Street Projector Screen. This will increase Mickey's Thinner capacity and earn him the Unwind the Clock Pin.

In Rebrushed, gears will now occasionally appear as a rolling hazard for Mickey to jump over and the arms occasionally slam down three times, making the battle slightly more difficult than originally.

In the ending, the Clock Tower is looked back on by Mickey through a reflection summoned by Yen Sid in two possible scenarios of how he battled it. In the Paint Ending, having been fully cured of the music, the Clock Tower admires eight Gremlins dancing in union with it. In the Thinner Ending, the Clock Tower now floats in the Thinner river in eternal pain with his destroyed arms alongside him.

Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two

In the intro of the game, the Clock Tower is seen in an animated flashback. Mickey is revealed to have used Thinner to fight the Clock Tower, which presumably led to his destruction in the canonical path.

Trivia

• His arms are a unique toon object, because they can be painted on even though they are already Toon. In Rebrushed, his arms are normal toon, and are instead partially thinned out.
• If one preforms the Levitating Spray Stream (or LSS) glitch and paints his face immediately, you can end the fight early, making the paint route the optimal route for speedrunning.
• According to a video, Warren Spector reveals it was his decision to make the Clock Tower the first boss of the game.
• The Clock Tower's theme is a intense and dramatic version of "It's a Small World" to support the game's dark themes, and the song likely became distorted due to the Clock Tower breaking down.
• He is based on the Clock Tower façade of the actual It's a Small World ride attraction in Disneyland, California.

• In both the Graphic Novel and the novelization of the first game, the Thinner battle is used. Coupled with the fact that during the flashback of the opening of Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, Mickey is seen using Thinner against the Clock Tower. These prove to be evidence that the Thinner path is the canon path in the storyline for this boss.
