Cobra Commander is the titular main protagonist of the Cobra Commander comic book series and a major antagonist in Skybound’s Energon Universe
Biography[]
The man that would become Cobra Commander was originally a refugee living as a scientist at the hidden civilization of Cobra-La. Despite the people of Cobra-La only worshiping that which is organic, the scientist brought a robotic being back to the bioscience labs to experiment on, which upset many citizens, leading some of them to revolt and infiltrate one of the labs, an incident which left the future commander burned while trying to fight back.
After being healed, the scientist was brought before Golobulus, the ruler of Cobra-La, who blamed him for leaking the information about the secret specimen they had and instigating the riots. The man defended himself by claiming that a civil war was inevitable and that he should allow him to go back into the outside to help Cobra-La further its control over the world, to which Golobulus agreed after the scientist demonstrated what he was capable of, giving him the title of Cobra Commander.
