Coconteppi is the overarching antagonist of the 2020-2021 HBO Max limited series Adventure Time: Distant Lands special "Wizard City". He is a primordial entity who is the source of all magic.
History[]
Coconteppi was one of the countless monsters that existed before the universe was formed. At an unknown point, he arrived on Earth before dying due to unknown causes. His remains were then buried under what would become Wizard City in an attempt to suppress his power.
Millions of years later, a cult led by Dr. Caledonius sought to resurrect Coconteppi. They planned to have an individual drink from a chalice containing Coconteppi's blood, which would allow the entity to reincarnate into his new host. The cult first kidnapped Spader, a student at Wizard School, and had him drink from the chalice, but it ended up killing him. They then had Peppermint drink from it, resulting in Coconteppi fusing with him and becoming a creature that was referred to as Pepperminteppi. With his new host, he killed nearly all of the cult members, but Cadebra managed to get some of Peppermint's personality to resurface. However, when Coconteppi's heart fell, Pepperminteppi mutated into an even more monstrous form. He immediately tried to kill Cadebra while mocking her for trying to stop him. Fortunately, she managed to distract him before expelling Coconteppi's blood, and his spirit, from Peppermint's body.
