~ Amado's phrase which breaks his limiters. |
Code (in Japanese: コード, Kōdo) is the secondary antagonist of the Boruto series. He is the last and only member of the Kara organization and its current leader. He is a failed vessel of Isshiki Ōtsutsuki, who entrusted his will to Code and has the intention of having Code become the next Ōtsutsuki.
He is voiced by Junta Terashima in Japanese and Jacob Hopkins in English.
Personality[]
Code appears to have a mocking and arrogant demeanor, as he grinned when Jigen put Victor in place and mocked Delta for being weaker than him. Despite this, Code is Isshiki's most loyal subordinate, and unlike Kawaki, he genuinely looked up to the man as his master or perhaps even a father-figure, to where he stated openly he would willingly sacrifice himself if he could to be Isshiki's vessel and in addition to being jealous that Kawaki was set to be Isshiki's next vessel, he expressed confusion over how Kawaki would not do so willingly. He was visibly saddened by Isshiki's death, clearly lamenting his inability to save his soul, and willingly obliged to carry out the will of the Otsutsuki as Isshiki wished for him and he was clearly enraged at those who destroyed Isshiki.
Powers and Abilities[]
As an Inner of Kara, Code is regarded as completely monstrous in terms of power. Despite his true power being unknown, he is stated to be capable of exceeding Isshiki's might in Jigen's body at full strength, making him the most powerful member of Kara second only to the resurrected Isshiki, to where Code needed limiters to hold back his power and due to his undying loyalty to Isshiki not wanting to undermine him while in Jigen's body. Even limited, he is still regarded as one of the strongest Inners, being stated to be stronger than Delta and Boro, and possibly only matched by Koji Kashin. Amado even believed that Naruto void of the Nine-Tails would be defeated by Code.
Karma Seal[]
Code has a white karma seal, granted to him by Isshiki. Although his Karma is a dud, it still provides him with Isshiki's "full power" although the extent of it is currently unknown and it can still allow him to become a new Otsutsuki.
Biography[]
Past[]
Like Kawaki, Code was one of the children whom Isshiki experimented on in the past. Code was the only survivor who was a failed vessel. Nevertheless, he came to view Isshiki as a god and Isshiki, out of recognition and appreciation of Code's reverence of him, inducted him into Kara as an Inner and also as a backup plan should he die permanently so there will be someone left to inherit the clan's legacy.
Boruto[]
At some point after the Chūnin Exams, Code looked into Naruto Uzumaki to determine whether or not Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki had marked him with his Kāma before being killed, but found no evidence of the mark on his body.
After Delta was defeated by Naruto Uzumaki, Code told her that she was too weak to face Naruto, and thus the task would fall to either himself or Boro. He was also surprised to learn that Momoshiki had left behind a Kāma after all, wondering if it was placed on Sasuke Uchiha before Delta revealed that Boruto Uzumaki was the one who received the mark. Later, while Jigen was recovering after the battle against Naruto and Sasuke, Code was with the Ten-Tails. He reported to Jigen, who informed him that there has been no contact from Boro in a while, and was instructed to keep a close watch due to Konoha discovering it.
While he stood guard in the Ten Tails' dimension, Isshiki appeared before him via his failed Kāma mark. He informs Code of his defeat by the hands of the Konoha shinobi. He decides to leave his will and goals to Code, an adamant worshiper of Isshiki and the Ōtsutsuki clan. Enraged at his masters defeat, but motivated to exact revenge nonetheless, Code sets his thoughts on his master’s murderers, and decides to follow the goals set by Isshiki, including consuming the chakra fruit of Earth and becoming a god.
