Cody Benbow is the minor antagonist of The Mentalist TV-show. He is a baseball killer, who turned out to be a killer. He was played by Mitch Ryan.
Biography[]
One day, Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon are called to investigate another murder. A woman has been murdered. The body is discovered by her fiancé, Cody Benbow. Patrick questions him about the amount of stolen goods. He also notes that the things are folded as if they were folded by a man and that Cody has scored 52 fewer goals this season than last season. He claims that Cody is the killer. Patrick believes that Cody has contracted star fever, which is why his fiancée decided to leave him. He strangled her. Patrick demands that Cody show his firearm. Unbeknownst to Cody, Patrick unloads one of the guns. Cody takes Patrick hostage. However, unbeknownst to Patrick, Cody puts another gun (which is still loaded) in his pocket. He wounds a police officer, but the other police officers kill Cody.
