Joseph Stalin, also known as Coldsteel, is a supervillain from the Marvel comics. Originally the Marvel universe's counterpart of the real world dictator, Stalin would ultimately be transformed into a demonic villain due to the machinations of Satannish and become a prominent member of the Lethal Legion.
Biography[]
Joseph Stalin[]
Prior to becoming Coldsteel, Stalin was an infamous dictator during the 1900's. Despite this, he would ultimately aid in defeating Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Empire, though he would later take over as a major figure in the formation of the Soviet Empire and a new age of unrest across the world.
Coldsteel[]
Due to the many atrocities Stalin was part of in life, he would become a spirit in the realm of Satannish, the hell-lord would eventually have use for Stalin and allowed him to live again as the demonic Coldsteel, a super-villain capable of standing toe-to-toe with many superheroes and an enforcer of Satannish's will.
Appearance[]
As Coldsteel, Stalin has an inhumanly large, powerful body made out of living metal. His is at minimum nine feet in height, and as a spirit he can likely take other forms. However, he is limited by the physical form that Satannish decides to grant him.
Abilities[]
As of his resurrection as Coldsteel, Stalin gained superhuman size, strength and durability. He was also effectively immortal, since even if his physical form was destroyed, his life-force would simply return to Satannish and could be returned at any point should the hell-lord have use for him.

- Coldsteel's form when he gained demonic powers is based on the "Iron Curtain", which in turn was used as an embodiment of the Soviet Empire during the Cold War era.
- The group which Coldsteel was a part of was unique among villains in Marvel Comics in that it consisted of demonic re-imaginings of real world figures.
