That thing must be what's causing the blizzard! We've got to take it down!
~ Tulin and Link preparing to fight Colgera.
The culprit behind the blizzard that plagued the Hebra region. This huge beast harnesses wind to produce strong updrafts and lift itself aloft. The jagged layer of ice covering its body serves as a protective shield and allows it to lanch frozen spikes at its foes.
~ Colgera's Hyrule Compendium entry.

Colgera is a major antagonist in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It is a giant worm-like centipede that wields the power of ice and bends it to its will. It is responsible for the extreme cold snap that plagues Rito Village and acts as the Guardian of the Wind Temple.

Biography[]

Colgera is one of the servants of Ganondorf, who was sent to Rito Village to prevent a potential sage from being awakened through causing a severe endless blizzard that caused their bridge to be destroyed and businesses to shut down at the same time the Upheaval began. Due to the extreme conditions, Rito adults were forced to forge for food while the children stay behind to keep their businesses running while they are away, though the Rito were provided the necessities by the Hylians to survive their ordeal. Link and Tulin team up to reach the Wind Temple to find the source of the blizzard, where they discover a flying ship called the Stormwind Ark that was thought to be a mere legend among the Rito, which mainly the fletchlings can understand.

Link and the young Rito remove the locks that were preventing them from reaching the entrance to the source of the extreme cold snap where Colgera emerged, leading the duo to realize that it was the source of Rito Village's ongoing snowstorm, and they get into a battle with it. Despite Colgera putting up a fight against the two of them, it was ultimately defeated and slain, allowing Tulin to awaken as a Sage of Wind and the snowstorm in Rito Village to come to an end, returning everything to normal.

It's later summoned by Ganondorf along with Marbled Gohma, Mucktorok, Queen Gibdo, and the Seized Construct in Gloom's Lair. By Ganondorf's ultimate defeat, Colgera and the rest of the monsters were also killed for good.
