~ Colin Dupley as he prepares to kill Meg Callahan. |
Colin Dupley is a supporting antagonist in the Criminal Minds episode "The Hunt". He is a serial killer who buys young girls from human traffickers Alex Zorgen and Donna Mangold to rape, torture, and murder.
He was portrayed by Kevin Fry-Bowers.
Biography[]
Dupley is a sadistic psychopath who derives sexual pleasure from raping, torturing, and murdering adolescent girls. He is a regular customer of a human trafficking ring led by Alex Zorgen and Donna Mangold. He bids on the girls on Zorgan's dark net website, rapes them, and tortures them with knives and power tools before ultimately stabbing them to death. He then dismembers their bodies and dumps their remains in the Potomac river. Zorgan describes him as his favorite customer.
"The Hunt"[]
Dupley bids on the trafficking ring's latest victim, 13-year-old Meg Callahan, the niece of Agent Kate Callahan of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit. He ultimately outbids the other serial killers who make up Zorgen's customer base, and picks her up from Zorgen. He promises to dispose of her just as he has the other young girls he has bought from the ring, and says that he should get a discount next time.
He suspends Meg from the ceiling of his garage, and gets in the mood to start torturing her by showing her the instruments he plans to use on her. Meg remembers what her aunt told her about never showing psychopaths fear, and pretends to be a psychopath who enjoys both inflicting pain and having it inflicted upon her.
A victim telling him she wants him to hurt her ruins Dupley's fantasy, and he strikes her in frustration. She kicks him in the groin and screams for help, letting the BAU, who have found Dupley's location after interrogating Zorgen and Mangold, know where she is. They rush in to save her, and Agent Jennifer Jareau shoots Dupley dead as he grabs a knife to kill Meg.
Trivia[]
- Dupley is inspired by Gerald Friend, a serial kidnapper and rapist of girls, the last girl he attacked having be hoisted by a pulley system and escaping to safety to get Friend arrested. The girl sued the Department of Correctiona for Friend’s parole. Grunge musician Kurt Cobain wrote the song Polly based on the crime, as if the girl pretended to enjoy the torture she suffered to have an opportunity to fight for her life when the rapist’s guard was down.
