Biography[]
Background[]
Not much is known about the gang's background. Jefe presumably founded the gang in Colombia, before he and the gang set themselves New Mexico after the epicenter from the drug war moved from Colombia to the US-Mexico border. As revealed in "Bad Choice Road", Mike Ehrmantraut had a prior encounter with members of the gang.
Juan Bolsa, a major lieutenant of the Cartel, hired them to steal Lalo Salamanca's bail money, which amounted to seven million dollars. He intended to secretly help Gus Fring against the Salamanca's family, as Lalo was a huge threat to both Fring and Bolsa; unbeknown to Bolsa, Fring intended to have Lalo bailed out of jail, so he could later send his mercenaries to deal with him.
Bagman[]
Lalo Salamanca hired Jimmy McGill to transport the bail money to a remote desert pickup site. After retrieving from the Salamanca cousins the two duffel bags worth $7 million, he engaged his return trip, but the gang was tipped off about the money's exchange and carrier. Soon after, Jimmy is cut off and surrounded by several trucks, forcing him to halt. Shortly after, the mercenaries exit their vehicles and point their gun at McGill, forcing him to step out of his car, hands up, and giving the car's key to Jefe, who opens the trunk and steals the duffel bags. He then signals Matador, one of his men, to execute McGill, who desperately pleads for his life by saying that Matador misunderstood Jefe's order and that he's a "friend of the cartel".
As Matador is about to shoot Jimmy, a sniper shoots him in the neck, instantly killing him. Seconds after, the sniper kills another gunman, and the remaining gang members immediately take cover behind their trucks, ignoring McGill. The sniper, revealed to be Mike Ehrmantraut, kills all of them but one, Tiburón, who managed to escape, but without the duffel bags.
Tiburón, however, didn't intend to flee but still wanted to retrieve the money. He met his demise a day after, attempting to run over Jimmy, before Mike snipes him in the head, putting an end to his life as well as to the gang. Even though the gang was defeated, the gang's actions still left Saul and Mike stranded in the desert, as the gunfight left all nearby vehicles unusable.

Trivia[]
- Mike deduced they were Colombians upon inspecting their tattoos.
- The gang members' names are only revealed through the episode's credits. Their Spanish names are also symbolic:
- Jefe means "boss" and led the gang.
- Matador means "killer" and was about to kill McGill before Ehrmantraut interrupted him.
- Tiburón means "shark", and after the failed ambush, spent the rest of the episode hunting Jimmy and Mike in his car, like a shark hunts down fish.
- Jimmy helping Mike kill the last member of the Colombian gang by acting as bait is technically Jimmy's first and only murder in the Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul timeline.
