Colonel Idris Sadick is the main antagonist of the 2003 action film Tears of the Sun.
A military rebel who supports the coup d'état led by General Mustafa Yakubu in Nigeria, he is first seen with an army of rebels going towards the position of SEAL Lieutenant. A.K Waters, his soldiers and Dr. Anna Kendrick, whose Waters has been ordered to rescue. The position is a Catholic mission who welcomes wounded refugees. Sadick arrives the mission and the priest and two nuns are still there, having refused to leave with Waters's commando. The priest begs for mercy and assures there are no weapons because they are in God's house. Sadick notices the crucifix on the priest's neck, and nods his head to his right-hand, Commander Terwaze. Therefore he coldly executes the priest by beheading him. The two nuns and the rest of the occupants are also killed.
While flying over the medical mission which they had left a few hours earlier, the soldiers discover the massacre of all its inhabitants by Sadick's forces. Taken in a dilemma, Lieutenant Waters decides to turn around and has the weaker refugees on board. The commando will then escort Lena Kendricks and the rest of the refugees on foot to Cameroon.
Meanwhile, Colonel Sadick is informed by Terwaze that American troops is on their lands and they went out by helicopter and by foot through the mountains to go to Cameroon. Sadick then chooses to chase Waters's group. The soldiers realize by satellite images that they are being pursued by Sadick's group. Initially intrigued, Waters does not pay much attention. But later, Sadick and his men are closer and relentlessly go in their direction, even walking the night without resting. Waters realize it and searches for the spy. The traitor who had a transmitter is unmasked and the commando discovers that he had to follow one of the refugees, Arthur Azuka, son and last survivor of the family of the late Nigerian president, under penalty of seeing his family executed by the Colonel. The commando discovers that it was to follow one of the refugees, Arthur Azuka, son and last survivor of the family of the late Nigerian president. Waters' superior, Captain Rhodes, tells him by radio that Arthur's presence is a "diplomatic problem", especially as the rebel forces are working hard and are closer than ever.
Colonel Idris Sadick finds the body of the spy by spotting it with his binoculars. Terwaze opens a map and shows to him and some of his men where the SEALS will cross to get to Cameroon in order to be safe. However, one of the rebels makes the mistake of activating the transmitter, which allows a soldier from Waters, who remained in hiding, to detonate the bombs placed to slow them down. Sadick's group ends up finding the SEALS and the fight leaves many dead. The SEALs, however, manage to guide two F-18s which deliver a ground strike ending the assault. Sadick is not seen during the final battle. It can be assumed that he either died because of the strikes or he fled from the battle.
Idris Sadick is an cold and extremely ruthless warlord. Commanding his trope of rebels to do the genocide of the Ygbo tribe and track the American soldiers, he takes sadistic glee in doing so. He has a great talent of leadership, having many men devoted and loyal to him.
He is notable by not saying a word during the whole movie.

Sadick is a homonym of "sadique", the French word for "sadist", a personality description that fits him pretty well.
