“ | So then, there's this huge stone Colossus, and I'm thinking, "What am I supposed to do? There's no Spinjitzu move for this." And, I mean we all came together and took it down, but, oh boy, it wasn't easy. | „ |
~ Lloyd Garmadon describing the Colossus to Akita in Secret of the Wolf. |
The Colossus, also known as the Oni Colossus or the Oni Titan, is a major antagonist in the Oni Trilogy in LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.
It was a massive, stone-like creature created by Lord Garmadon by using his True Potential.
Used as the resurrected villain's main line of defense, the Colossus was a powerful being capable of destroying anything in its path. When the four original ninja (Kai, Jay, Cole and Zane) and baby Wu tried to flee Ninjago City by using the Destiny's Bounty, the Colossus grabbed the flying ship and crushed it in two, causing Lloyd and the others to believe that the rock monster had been responsible for the demise of the original Ninja and Wu. However, they were able to escape the Bounty by using Traveler's Tea and found themselves in the First Realm, the land of Oni and Dragons.
Biography[]
The Colossus was created in "True Potential" when Harumi informed the revived Lord Garmadon that as his dominant Element was Destruction, he had access to a greater power - the power of Creation - as his True Potential. Upon unlocking his True Potential, Garmadon used nearby boulders to create a gigantic monster made out of the boulders and powered it with Destruction.
Shortly after giving up their powers to save Lloyd from death, the original four Ninja, Kai, Jay, Cole, and Zane, hear a trembling noise outside of Mystake's tea shop and upon exiting the shop, they notice the stone behemoth. Though the Ninja fail in doing any damage to the beast, help soon arrives in the form of the Ninjago City Police, but they fail to do any damage to the Colossus either.
In Season 9: Hunted, the Colossus is primarily used to keep oppression and fear throughout Ninjago City. In "Saving Faith", Skylor takes control of the Colossus by using Garmadon's Destruction absorbed from him with her own power of Amber, and makes the creature scale Borg Tower in order to destroy its creator.
While Harumi attempts (to no avail) to warn her master to leave Borg Tower, Garmadon refuses to listen and despite Skylor's best efforts, the four-armed emperor retakes control of the Colossus and orders it to destroy Lloyd, Nya, Skylor, and Dareth on the nearby building.
Harumi, using Borg Tower's zipline, escapes to the nearby building and when she finds a trapped family about to be crushed by the Colossus, she helps them evacuate by not wanting them to suffer the same fate that her biological parents did.
In "Green Destiny", the Ninja and Wu, with the help of dragons from the First Realm, tie up the beast with giant chains and bring it to its knees, effectively destroying it.
