~ Combo during a meeting with Walter White. |
Christian "Combo" Ortega is a supporting character in the crime drama series Breaking Bad. He is one of Jesse Pinkman's closest friends, who is recruited as a low-level drug dealer for Walter White.
He was portrayed by Rodney Rush.
History[]
Past[]
Combo was the son of Mrs. Ortega and one of Jesse Pinkman's closest friends, having befriended him since they were young. When he was a juvenile, Combo stole a baby Jesus from Nativity set. Kim Wexler represented him in juvenile court and got him off.
Better Call Saul[]
In Season 6 of Better Call Saul, Combo is mentioned when Jesse, who accompanied him to court, recognizes Kim as the public defender in his case. Jesse isn't sure of Combo's motive and Kim tells Jesse to tell Combo that she hopes that he stays out of trouble.
Breaking Bad[]
Season 1[]
From flashbacks in Season 3, it was revealed that it was Combo who provided Jesse his RV which he used as a rolling meth lab; it belonged to his mother and he stole it to sell it to Jesse. Mrs. Ortega didn't report the RV stolen so her son would not get in trouble.
Combo first appears in Jesse's house, hanging out and getting high with Jesse and Skinny Pete. He notices a portion of Jesse's ceiling is missing, because of Jesse dissolving Emilio Koyama's body with acid in his bathtub. He and Pete get Jesse to do drugs again when he initially refuses, saying they are making him paranoid.
Season 2[]
Walter White and Jesse recruit Badger, Skinny Pete and Combo to distribute meth for their empire.
While selling meth on the streets, Combo is approached and watched by Rival Dealers. A boy riding his bike nearby shoots him point blank on behalf of the dealers. Bleeding, Combo ran for his life but was gunned down by the child and collapsed in a pool of blood. Skinny Pete later attended his funeral.
Season 3[]
Jesse learns that Combo was killed by Tomás Cantillo as part of an initiation into a gang working for Gus Fring. Combo's death would be avenged when Tomas was killed by the rival dealers after being told by Gus to stop using children in their operations. Afterwards, the rival dealers themselves would be killed by Walt.
