~ A discussion between Homer and Comic Book Guy. |
The Comic Book Guy was the main antagonist of the episode "Brick Like Me" of The Simpsons and the owner of the Android's Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop.
He was voiced by Hank Azaria.
Biography[]
Comic Book Guy is first met by Homer when he arrives at the shop to buy a Perky Patty's Princess Shop for Lisa but when he touches the box he gains a vision of his real life self playing with Lisa and runs away in fear after the vision ends. After having the vision, Homer's real self starts merging with his Lego form and soon returns to the store to find answers about the hallucinations.
After having the hallucination, Comic Book Guy deduces that the Lego reality is merely a figment of Homer's imagination that was created to cope with his fear of Lisa growing up while his real life self was rendered unconscious at a Lego convention. Homer embraces the imaginary reality but soon realizes that imaginary world is not worth living in if he cannot see his children grow up.
When Homer returns to the Android's Dungeon so that he can return to his real reality, however, Comic Book Guy reveals that he is a manifestation of Homer's psyche which wants to stay in the fantasy world and then builds a fortress around his store then summons pirates and ninjas to attack Homer so that he can never leave. The ninjas and pirates are quickly defeated by Bart who created a giant robot to save Homer then destroys the fortress which then allows Homer to escape the fantasy world.
