Clone Commander CC-1010, also known as Fox, is a minor character in the epic space opera franchise Star Wars, appearing as a minor character in the 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and as a supporting antagonist in the 2008-2020 animated television series of the same name and the 2017-2018 comic series Star Wars: Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith.
Fox was a clone commander in the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic and in the Imperial Army of its successor state the Galactic Empire. He served as the commander of the Coruscant Guard, the elite clone force responsible for maintaining security on the capital planet Coruscant. Fox was honor bound to serve Sheev Palpatine and the Galactic Senate, and was known by his unwavering adherence to upholding the law.
Like the rest of the clones in the series, he voiced by Dee Bradley Baker.
Personality[]
Fox was loyal to the Galactic Republic, always following orders to the letter, resulting in him being a highly decorated soldier. However, this often reached such an extent that he would often unwillingly help Palpatine in his plan to overthrow the Republic. His intentions were generally not bad until the formation of the Empire, with many of his most infamous acts being due to ignorance rather than malice.
Following Order 66 and the eradication of the Jedi order, Fox spoke particularly ill of the Jedi, showing much less remorse than other clones did over time. He showed a level of negligence in his Imperial service, ultimately costing him his life when he crossed Darth Vader (whom he had wronged more than once during their Republic service).
Biography[]
Clone Wars[]
CC-1010, named Fox, was a commander in the Coruscant Guard, far from the front lines. He was friends with fellow officers Captain Rex and Commander Cody. When Senator Padmé Amidala was kidnapped in the Coruscant lower levels, he realized the Separatist threats were everywhere.
Fox's duties made him familiar with the seedier levels of Coruscant, including the palace of the foul crimelord Ziro the Hutt. When word came that Ziro imprisoned a Republic Senator, Fox and his Guardsmen rushed to the scene.
Later during the war, Fox was assigned to a Republic military base. He pursued the fugitive Ahsoka Tano who was blamed for the murder of Letta Turmond, but she evaded capture. Fox later killed rogue clone trooper Fives before he could reveal a conspiracy within the Republic.
Imperial Career[]
When Order 66 was issued, Fox participated in the purge. It is also implied that he and his troops killed several Jedi on Coruscant. Though he was made to do this by his inhibitor chip, he shows no remorse afterwards like other clones did and even boasts about it which suggests he would have done so anyway.
Later in the aftermath of the Clone Wars, Fox retained command of the Coruscant Guard and when the Republic he once served had been reorganized into the Galactic Empire. During the early years of Emperor Palpatine's reign, Fox organized a security perimeter encircling the Jedi Temple while Darth Vader attempted to capture the Jedi Master Jocasta Nu.
However, Vader's lightsaber caused Fox and his soldiers to mistake the Sith for a Jedi, as Fox had neglected to describe Vader’s appearance. They opened fire on Vader until Fox realized who they were shooting. Ultimately, Fox was killed by Vader for his blunder, with Vader using the Force to snap his neck, avenging Fives unintentionally.

Trivia[]
- Due to his actions in the series, most infamously killing Fives, Fox is considered one of the most hated clones in the Star Wars community. Many fans rejoiced to see him finally get killed by Darth Vader later on.
- Fox is the only regularly-recurring clone in The Clone Wars whose face was never revealed.
- Fox is the reason why some of the events happen:
- He unintentionally lets Demolition Droids disguised as sweeper droids access the Coruscant city's power core, which destroys the potentially war-ending peace negotiations by Padmé Amidala and Senator Mina Bonteri.
- He arrests Ahsoka Tano and causes her faith in both the Republic and Jedi Order to be shattered and cause Anakin's eventual distrust in the Jedi Order.
- He refuses to let Anakin speak to Ahsoka in prison, having his troops physically threaten Anakin when he demands to see her. When she escapes, he orders his men to shoot to kill—against Anakin and Rex’s orders.
- And by far the most infamous example, he murders Fives and unintentionally helps Darth Sidious prevent Order 66 from being revealed.
- While it's not confirmed, Fox's close relationship with Palpatine makes it possible he may have known about his plans including Order 66. It's also suspicious that before killing Fives he appears to be listening to the conversation and he abruptly revealed himself the moment Fives was trying to name Palpatine as the one behind everything, as well as shooting to kill rather than stun Fives, which makes it likely that Fox did this on purpose to silence him. He's also notably the only clone who isn't shown taking off his helmet and mourning Fives after his death.
- In a bit of irony, Fox had no idea that Darth Vader was actually Anakin Skywalker, the same Jedi who was Ahsoka Tano's master and Fives' commander and friend, so he was unaware that he was killed by the same Jedi whose Padawan and friend he had arrested and killed, respectively. It is likely that these were two of the reasons Vader killed him.
