Commander Vill is a supporting antagonist in the Star Wars: Dark Times comic series.
He was a clone commander in the Grand Army of the Republic during the end of the Clone Wars. He later served the Galactic Empire as one of the commanders who led a regiment of stormtroopers in the 501st Legion.
History[]
Like his clone brothers, Vill was created on Kamino as a clone of the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett. After his training, he joined the service of the Grand Army of the Republic and participated in the Clone Wars.
Three years after the Battle of Geonosis, the Separatists persuaded the Nosaurians living on the Core World of New Plympto to secede from the Republic. Shortly after the proclamation of the Galactic Empire, Vill was assigned, at the request of Emperor Palpatine, along with a unit of the 501st Stormtrooper Legion under his command, to reinforce the 203rd already stationed on New Plympto. Nosaurians, whose droid army had already been defeated, gathered for a final battle at Half-Axe Pass, where they were supported by Jedi Dass Jennir. The Battle of Half-Axes Pass was a brutal defeat for the Nosaurian army, which was almost completely wiped out. The 501st Legion quickly executed those who surrendered. By Emperor Palpatine’s orders, Commander Vill sent the captured families to the slave markets on Orvax IV. Afterward, Vill reported the battle’s details to Darth Vader using a holocomm.
Three months later, Commander Vill and the 501st Legion were involved in the Imperial campaign to conquer the planet Bandomeer, an operation directly overseen by Darth Vader. Following their decisive victory over a group of poorly armed rebellious miners, Vill submitted a casualty report to Lord Vader. Vader took this chance to ask whether the clones had a secret order to kill him, an order they would follow without question if it came from Emperor Palpatine. Vill’s hesitant answer confirmed Vader’s fears. As a result, Vader used the Force to push Vill off a cliff to make sure the question never reached the Emperor.
