The Computer Virus is a recurring boss in the SNES game Kirby Super Star and its 2008 Nintendo DS remake, Kirby Super Star Ultra.
They are an extremely mysterious and invasive virus entity of unknown origin. They made their appearance throughout the story to test the abilities of Kirby (and Meta Knight in the remake).

Kirby Super Star:[]
The Great Cave Offensive[]
They invaded the great cave sometime before Kirby fell into the massive underground system. Stuck with no means of apparent escape, Kirby was soon forced to face the entity in battle. Trapping the latter with no means of retreat, the bout was made inevitable. Eventually after Kirby managed to win against all three forms, the Computer Virus allowed him to venture deeper into the great cave.
Milky Way Wishes:[]
Appearing as the boss of the seventh planet known as Halfmoon, the Computer Virus once again inclined Kirby to battle. Once again defeated, they allowed Kirby access to meet with the Galactic Nova.
Kirby Super Star Ultra[]
Helper to Hero/Meta Knightmare Ultra[]
Serving the same role, they later appeared to test the skills of Meta Knight and the Helpers Kirby can ally with for the journey.
Personality[]
The Computer Virus is a complex and multi-dimensional entity. Although not much is revealed about them, they do seem to have sapience and a clear fashion of conduct. Invasive and combative, they eagerly await confrontation with unsuspecting potential opponents.
Although the motherboard appears to project the dialogue, they nevertheless reflect their personality in each form. In addition to their violent attacks, the expressions of both the magician and dragon (both smiling at the idea of and enjoyment in inflicting harm) clarify the adversity of their nature. Further adding to willingness to surprise attack and violent methods, dependent on how a battle transpires, they are willing to kill opponents who do not meet their expectations, proving the sadistic edge of their dimension.
In spite of the adverse means, the Computer Virus is not without redeeming qualities. They are most often calm, respectful, and affable to combatants, even congratulating ones that manage to defeat them. Emphatically demonstrating themselves to be honorable, they allow passage with no further threat after defeat and are willing to lend a hand of help in some cases. Such is shown when they provided a Warp Star knowing Kirby (and later Meta Knight) would need it to meet the Galactic Nova and make their wish.

- The Computer Virus has a unique digital version of the normal boss theme.
- They are the only boss in Milky Way Wishes to not award a Star Essence, but instead a Warp Star in Meta Knightmare Ultra.
