Conner Kent, formerly known as Alexander Luthor and LX-15, is a Human/Kryptonian hybrid clone in the CW TV series Smallville.

A former supporting antagonist before becoming an ally, he appeared throughout the tenth and final season.

He was portrayed by Jakob Davies, Connor Stanhope and Lucas Grabeel.

Biography[]

Creation[]

When Clark Kent fell ill after inhaling meteorite spores, Dr. Helen Bryce managed to draw some blood from him for testing. She discovered the blood was abnormal and hid the sample. However, Lex Luthor broke into her lab and stole the blood sample for his own experiments. Although he gave it back to Helen, Lex secretly kept a sample to create a clone and stopped the accelerated aging in the other clones.

Alexander Luthor[]

When Tess Mercer awoke in Cadmus Labs, she explored the facility and met a young clone named of Alexander. She saw the other clones and asked who they were with Alexander responding they were his "brothers". When he wasn't looking, Tess accidentally released LX-13, an unstable clone due to Lex's memories and the accelerated aging.

Tess told Alexander to run before LX-13 pinned her down and ignited Cadmus Labs, destroying the lab and killing most of Lex's other clones. After being rescued by Clark Kent, Tess brought Alexander to the Luthor Mansion where he played with some old toys while she brought him a glass of milk. Unknown to her, Alexander put one of the toys into the fireplace.

At the Daily Planet, Tess was discussing the state of Alexander's condition with a therapist who stated his intelligence was off the charts. He requested Alexander be moved to a facility where he could be monitored at all times because of his instability as he was aging abnormally fast.

Tess said that she will have him ready, then stared lovingly at his picture, but was interrupted by Cat Grant. Tess later reconsidered and decided that what Alexander needed was love. After speaking and getting advice from Cat, Tess returned home and read Peter Pan to Alexander who told Tess he loved her.

At the Luthor Mansion, Tess threw a birthday party for Alexander. Unlike the original Lex Luthor, Alexander's party was packed with guests and children, all of whom sang "Happy Birthday" to the delighted boy. Alexander proceeds to hug Tess and thank her for the party, right before Tess is called away. Alexander was enjoying the party but then started drawing on a paper plate the House of El emblem. With that stroke of memory, Alexander had a seizure which Tess and the therapist ran to his aid.

Tess attempts to talk to Alexander about what happened at the party, and also about the fact he's been drawing these S-Shield symbols for weeks now. But Alexander tried to avoid the question, during which Tess tried to remind him that he is loved by her so he shouldn't shut her out.

Alexander pretends to answer Tess' question but instead took the key to his room out of Tess' pocket and locked her inside, as he escapes. At the Kent Farm, Alexander started remembering the times the original Lex spent there the wearer (recalling when their friendship would be the "thing of legend" and when the wearer's bowtie was tied), as he looked through the pictures in the yearbook. Tess managed to find him, however, she realized that she was too late, as not only did Alexander remember the past but also the emotions that came along with them when they drifted away from each other.

Tess continued to reach out to him, but he drifted farther away believing that she only wanted to help so she could redeem herself from her evil deeds that she committed. He struck a nerve about the powerful men in her life: Lex Luthor, Oliver Queen, Zod and Clark Kent that she clung too.

When Tess struck him, Alexander refused her help for good as he insulted her for saying there was so much she didn't know about herself. Horrified by what she's done, she pleads "I'm sorry Alexander!" But Alexander pulled away, saying "My name is Lex!", leaving Tess horrified. Later Tess' scientist managed to find a cure to Alexander's accelerated growth, but she tossed the vial into the fire. Tess states that he will be locked up forever.

After drawing the House of El emblem in several papers, Alexander stood before a mirror in his room, having just finished shaving his head of all his red hair. Now dressed in Lex's purple and black attire, he stares at his reflection and gives a small, sinister smirk. Weeks later, Tess had moved Alexander/Lex (LX-15) to a locked room in Cadmus Labs, where he had continued to draw the House of El symbol multiple times over the facility's wall and then escaped, only leaving behind a book Tess had read to him, stating that he was "all grown up now", much to the horror of Clark and Tess.

Alexander plotted to kill Clark with Kryptonite bullets and went after his mother Senator Martha Kent knowing he would take the bullet for her. The plan failed and Alexander went into hiding in Suicide Slums where he was found by Lionel Luthor from another Earth.

At first Alexander was confused as Lex dropped Lionel 40 stories. The other Lionel decided to aid Alexander in his goal to rectify the wrongs he made in an alternate world of choosing Clark's doppelganger over Lex's doppelganger. Alexander and Lionel took LuthorCorp back from Tess and Oliver.

However, Alexander decided to do away with Lionel and Martha after learning he used Clark to kill Lex the first time. Alexander knocked Martha unconscious and asks Lionel-2 if what she said was true. Lionel-2 admits that he was wrong to choose Clark over him and he wanted a second chance. Alexander told him that there were no second chances before knocking him out with a pistol and throws a liquor bottle at the wall, setting the mansion on fire before leaving. Alexander arrives with a gun with kryptonite bullets, rendering Clark ill. Once Clark collapses, Alexander tells them about everything he has done and boasts about how he set the mansion on fire with both Lionel-2 and Martha inside.
