Connie Butcher (née Atkinson) is a minor character in Amazon series, The Boys.

She is Sam Butcher's wife who always defended her husband's abuse even when their own son, Billy, has every right to hate him for abusing him and his brother Lenny.

She is portrayed by Lesley Nicol (who also played Katja in Supernatural) and Adrianna Prosser young.

Biography[]

Background[]

Not much is known of Connie Atkinson's past, but she was born in Britain and grew up with her sister Judy. She later married Sam Butcher, who became abusive to their sons Billy and Lenny. Sam's abuse ultimately led to Billy leave home to the military and Lenny committing suicide, unable to deal with his father's abuse alone. Despite losing both of her children due to Sam, she remained at his side and made excuses for his past behavior.

The Boys[]

Season 2[]

By 2019-2020, Sam was diagnosed with cancer and Connie decides to contact Billy in hopes he can reconcile with his father. She phones Billy and lies that Sam died of cancer, which convinces her son to come by. Her plan fails as Sam intentionally provokes Billy over Lenny's death and leaves. It's unknown if Sam is dead afterward, as Billy mentions that he doesn't know if his father is alive to Soldier Boy.

Season 3[]

When Billy was trapped in his own nightmares by Mindstorm, he saw his father abusing him with a belt while hiding Lenny and Connie did nothing about it, instead she would smoke instead of stopping Sam or reporting him to the police.

Personality[]

Connie is seemly a dutiful and a loyal wife, but is a neglectful selfish mother as she didn't do a thing to prevent her husband's abuse. She even remained married to him after Lenny took his own life and Billy left to join the SAS. She also would always side with Sam and even admitted that he is horrible despite siding with her husband several times.
