Villain Overview

Conquest: Stand ready for my arrival, worm. You were given orders. You were given time. You were given more leeway than most, and yet I find this planet unprepared for the arrival of our Viltrum Empire.
Invincible: …This isn't a good time.
Conquest: The Empire anticipated your resistance, which is why they sent
me. I am Conquest, and I am your last chance to fulfill your duty.
~ Conquest introducing himself to Invincible as they prepare to fight.

Now, while I have your attention, I want to thank you, Mark. Really. You know, it’s not often I get to cut loose like this. Usually, there are so many mission parameters, so many things not to destroy. People not to kill. But for whatever reason, and I don’t really care why, I was ordered to take control of Earth by any means necessary. You did something to piss us off and I thank you for it. This has been an immense joy.
~ Conquest sadistically thanking Invincible for defying the Viltrum Empire and fighting him.

...I am so lonely. All the other Viltrumites are scared of me. No one talks to me. No one wants to be my friend, they think I am unstable. They send me from planet to planet, committing atrocities in their name. And as I get better at it, they fear me more and more. I am a victim of my own success. "Conquest" - I don't even get a real name, only a purpose. I am capable of so much more and no one sees it. Some days I feel so alone I could cry, but I don't. I never do. Because what would be the point? Not a single person in the entire universe would care. Take it to your grave.
~ Conquest's infamous speech as he reveals his true feelings to Invincible while attempting to choke him to death.

Conquest is a major antagonist in the Image Comics comic series Invincible and its animated adaptation of the same name. He will appear in some capacity in its interquel comic series Invincible Universe: Battle Beast.

He is a very old Viltrumite, and arguably the second most powerful behind Thragg. He fought for the Viltrum Empire for thousands of years. Even after the Scourge Virus decimated their population he continued to single-handedly conquer planets.

His actions were done not so much out of belief in the Viltrumite cause but rather out of pure sadism and blood-lust, which in turn made even his own fellow Viltrumites fear him, causing him to experience immense loneliness. He is one of Invincible's arch-enemies and most dangerous foes.

He is voiced by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who also played The Comedian in Watchmen, Negan Smith in The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: Dead City, Joe Kessler in The Boys, Sam in Desierto, Abyzou while possessing Clyde Brenek in The Possession, and Azazel while possessing John Winchester in Supernatural.

Surviving the Scourge Virus, Conquest was briefly weakened, losing his right arm and eye in a battle with a Rognarr. With a prosthetic arm, he continued his service to the Viltrumite Empire. Appearance[]

Physique[]

Conquest is a towering, elderly Caucasian Viltrumite with a commanding presence. Like all adult males of his species, he sports a thick, well-groomed mustache. His age is evident, even by Viltrumite standards, marked by deep wrinkles, balding grey hair, and crooked teeth. Despite his aged appearance, Conquest maintains an imposing and massively muscular physique. During an incident on the Savage Planet, while his regenerative abilities were temporarily impaired, Conquest sustained severe injuries. He received a deep, disfiguring scar that runs diagonally across his face, from the top of his left temple, over his right eye (blinding it), and down to his right cheek. His right arm was severed just below the bicep during a brutal encounter with a Rognarr and was later replaced with a cybernetic prosthetic. The mechanical arm is bronze in color, accented with silver plating and glowing amethyst lights, blending Viltrumite technology with a menacing, utilitarian design.

Clothing[]

Viltrumite Elite Attire[]

During his early years as a soldier of the Viltrum Empire, Conquest wore the standard attire of an adult male Viltrumite: a tight-fitting white and gray bodysuit resembling a bodystocking. Later, he was promoted and given an elite uniform similar to Anissa’s, distinguished by a circular emblem on his chest featuring three vertical lines at its center. His pelvic area was covered by a simple loincloth, and he wore a sturdy pair of white boots to complete the outfit.

Personality[]

Right about now, Anissa would be telling you how the Viltrum Empire would turn this wretched planet into a utopia. How you would be stupid to resist. I'll tell you no such thing. The truth is, I want you to resist. I'm not here to save you. I'm not here to spread the greatness of the Viltrum Empire. I'm here because I enjoy this. See, to me, there is no greater pleasure than feeling the warmth of my fists drenched in blood.
~ Conquest revealing his sadomasochistic motivations to Invincible, revealing he doesn't care about the Viltrum Empire or its cause.

Conquest is portrayed as a completely irredeemable sadist in both media. Upon arrival, he orders Invincible to “Stand ready for my arrival, worm,” showing that he is incredibly arrogant as well. He also reveals to Invincible that he does not believe in any cause, and is motivated purely by blood-lust to do battle for the thrill of killing. Throughout his subsequent fight with Invincible, he repeatedly taunted him, even encouraging him to fight back harder. After supposedly killing Atom Eve, he taunted Invincible about her death and then thanked him for finally giving him an opportunity to kill and destroy freely without restrictions. His smugness briefly melted away when an enraged Invincible bit off a chunk of his shoulder, but it returned when he broke Invincible's hand.

Despite his confidence in battle, he was shown to be terrified of Thragg and begged him to spare his life after he failed to conquer Earth. In his second battle with Invincible, he re-assumed his confident persona but it slowly faded away as he was being strangled to death.

He is similar to Battle Beast in that he fought out of bloodlust and a desire for the exhilarating thrill of battle rather than loyalty to a cause, but also differed as Battle Beast possessed a great sense of honor, not fighting people he knew had no chance against him, refusing to switch sides at a whim and even wounding himself so that his opponent would not have to fight at a disadvantage while Conquest by contrast slaughtered everyone he could, especially those far weaker than him and tormented them as they died or mourned, as well as feared his own death.

In the TV series, his personality is slightly expanded upon. Due to his own strength and power, he was basically ostracized by his fellow Viltrumites, denying him even a proper name, which he tells to his victims before he kills them, so that they can never tell anyone else. As such, he feels a deep sense of loneliness, attributing more depth to his character in the adaptation as he never had actual relationships. He also recognizes his actions as "atrocities", showing he is self-aware. Despite this, he remains a monstrous and bloodthirsty sadistic veteran warrior who relishes torturing and killing people.

This being highlighted when he greatly disemboweled Atom Eve after viciously shattering Marks knee with a sideswipe, dominating him In aerial H2H combat, as he relished in seeing him suffer more.

Biography[]

Conquest, you are an animal, only content with blood on your teeth, barely controllable. An animal is only useful when it obeys its master...
~ Thragg reminded Conquest that despite his incredible strength and reputation, he is still a stray dog in his army.

Conquest was born thousands of years ago on Viltrum. Being raised on the planet of cruel conquerors likely darkened his heart from a young age. Conquest fought in and survived the Viltrumite Civil War and later fought for Viltrum in the empire's expansion.

However, the enemies of the Viltrumites eventually found a way to hurt them, by creating a virus (using the DNA of Thaedus) known as the ”Scourge Virus,” which infected the entire population, killing them off in droves every year for decades. Conquest was one of the few who survived the virus, but found that for a brief period of time that he was temporarily weakened. During this time period, his right arm was torn off and his right eye was scarred and blinded by a Rognarr. His right arm would be replaced by a cybernetic prosthetic.

By the time the virus had run its course, the Viltrumite population had dwindled to less than 50. The remaining Viltrumites changed their strategy by creating a new method of conquering worlds by sending one Viltrumite to a planet to gradually weaken its defenses. Conquest was thus sent to “assimilate” planets and was apparently the most successful of all the Viltrumites, never failing once (it is also implied that he committed countless horrific atrocities single-handedly during this time). According to Nolan, Conquest's mindset became more irrational, unstable where he became this rabid bloodlust individual who sought only the thrill of combat and the blood of enemies spaced across the battlefield, and began to not care about his empire.

However despite his inner psychopathic personality, the Grand Regent, the leader of the Viltrumites, is the only figure in viltrumite history to control Conquest, as he fears Thragg the most. He would often take notice of Conquest's mission, and would often think of Conquest nothing more a rabid dog, an uncontrollable Animal, with only his actions to back up his proof of servitude for the Viltrumites.

In the modern era of the 2000s, Anissa was sent to see if Invincible had accepted the empire, she failed and heeded the arrival of another, Conquest, hoping in maybe a few years and decade that he will have the planet ready, if not the planet would turn to ash and even offered a prayer if nothing was set in stone.

Invincible War: Aftermath[]

Conquest eventually was sent to Earth to check on Mark's progress (Mark had previously been chosen to be the Viltrumite agent of Earth, although he had no plans of fulfilling his mission). The Viltrumites were planning to use Earth as a breeding camp to rebuild their population since human DNA was almost completely compatible with Viltrumite DNA. Conquest was sent specifically due to his record of never failing to assimilate planets and the likelihood that Mark would resist. Conquest arrived in the immediate aftermath of the “Invincible War,” and found Earth in ruins.

A guilt-ridden Mark chose to fight Conquest and the battle between the two commenced. Like his fight with his father, Mark's fight with Conquest was long and brutal, but the civilian casualty rate was far lower due to most of the area being evacuated prior. Their battle was shown all over the news and people mistook Conquest for Omni-Man. Mark's brother Oliver Grayson/Omni-Boy attempted to help him but Conquest broke his leg and tried to kill him before Mark rescued him. Atom Eve showed up as well and tried to fight Conquest but was impaled by his arm.

I take...the good... with.. the bad...
~ Conquest enjoying Invincible lose his mind to kill him.

The sight of Eve's supposed death enraged Mark who fought back against Conquest with new rage-based strength, and even managed to break Conquest's prosthetic arm (although doing so broke Mark's arm as well). Eve regenerated herself right after and managed to burn Conquest's skin. Conquest tried to finish Eve off but Mark defended her, knocking the already wounded Conquest to the ground. Conquest caught Mark's next punch and crushed his hand, telling him he still had enough fight left in him. Mark then head butted Conquest until his face was bashed in, leaving him unconscious.

Although Mark thought Conquest was dead, he was actually very much alive. Cecil imprisoned him in a steel case six miles beneath the Earth's surface, with plans to interrogate him once he healed enough to regain consciousness. Once Conquest fully healed, however, he broke free from his imprisonment and returned to the Viltrumite warship, where he begged Thragg to spare his life and give him another chance. Thragg forgave him and ordered him to kill Mark, Oliver, Nolan, and all the others but threatened to kill him if he fails again.

The Viltrumite War[]

A shocked and confused Mark later encountered Conquest again, this time with Lucan and Randee, in space. Mark fought Conquest, demanding to know how he was alive. Conquest told him that he underestimated him before but now planned to kill him after he would force him to watch his father and brother be killed. Conquest tried to kill Oliver, but Mark tackled him and managed to grab his throat just as he had exhaled. With no air, Conquest fought furiously to break free from Mark's grip, dragging him across the planet, and eventually tearing his intestines out. Mark refused to let go despite all the pain, and Conquest suffocated to death.

After Conquest's death, Mark passed out. Nolan bandaged Mark's wounds and buried Conquest, even giving him a marker. When Oliver questioned why Nolan had given him a proper burial, Nolan told him that despite Conquest's atrocities, everything he did was out of undying service and strength to Viltrum, which in a way made him a better warrior and man than Nolan ever could be.

Thragg: Well ... that's something. You know, you're in over your head ... Even Conquest fears me.
Invincible: I KILLED CONQUEST AND NOW I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!
~ Thragg and Invincible discussing their very own experiences with the former Conquest.

Legacy[]

During the final cataclysmic battle on Viltrum, Invincible bravely fought Thragg, emitting a nosebleed to him, he wipes it and applauds Invincible for his efforts but calls him crazy, as even Conquest, the most unstable and powerful viltrumite, fearful to all but him, is afraid of him, but Invincible doesn't care and even claims to all of the viltrumites that he killed him, and will kill Thragg too. This leaves all of the viltrumites, stunned and afraid as even Nolan strikes Anissa from behind believing they do not have the upper hand any more.

While Conquest remained permanently dead after the viltrumite war, his actions against Atom Eve, would be remembered by Thragg, reminded her who arrived on the moon to find Mark, and unleashed dual swords, as Thragg started her not to get a "clenched fist her in abdomen again".

Movincihawk's Conquest[]

In another universe where Movincihawk ruled Earth, Conquest was seen as his bodyguard, he even had shown to be similar to his mainstream counterpart, even expressing some manner of fear and to use Monster Girl to find him when the Viltrumites learned Mohawk Mark had disappeared and had admitted he couldn't handle Monster Girl's berserker form.

Since Mohawk Robot managed to rule over the Viltrumites with unity and peace, he possibly made Conquest more wiser and less of a husk than in the mainstream universe, perhaps finally finding a purpose in life than to destroy or rule.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Viltrumite Physiology: Conquest possesses highly advanced and potent genetics, granting him a wide range of superhuman abilities that continue to grow stronger as he ages. His physiology places him among the elite of his race, with power levels significantly surpassing those of most other Viltrumites. Conquest is widely regarded as one of the strongest Viltrumites in history, second only to the Grand Regent himself.
    • Superhuman Strength: Conquest possesses extreme levels of superhuman physical strength, capable of lifting and pressing several tons with ease. His raw power surpasses that of most Viltrumites, as seen during his brutal encounters with Invincible. In their first battle, Conquest repeatedly overpowered him, even incapacitating Kid Omni-Man with a single slap, and nearly killed him by methodically stretching his body to the brink of death. He only began to take Invincible seriously after he made Conquest bleed, yet immediately responded by dazing Invincible with a single punch. In a display of sheer brutality, Conquest used Invincible’s body as a weapon, slaughtering civilians on a beach and throughout the city, causing widespread destruction and mass casualties. The force of their clashes generated shockwaves, underscoring the staggering level of Conquest’s strength. At one point, he was even able to break Invincible’s leg and hand with a single punch, which also shattered Conquest’s own metal arm. Conquest was so powerful that he leveled part of the city by flying directly into Invincible. He effortlessly shattered Atom Eve’s energy constructs and ultimately killed her with a single, devastating punch through her stomach. Cecil Stedman even stated that Conquest is the strongest Viltrumite they’d encountered, suggesting he could potentially defeat Nolan. After regenerating, Conquest demonstrated his strength again by easily escaping a 400-ton containment unit created by the GDA. In his second confrontation with Invincible, Conquest once again incapacitated Kid Omni-Man with a slap before being grabbed from behind by Omni-Man himself. He retaliated with a headbutt but was quickly seized by Invincible. Despite being weakened under relentless assault, Conquest managed to break free momentarily, punching Invincible away and attempting to reach Kid Omni-Man. However, Invincible gained the upper hand, choking Conquest and withstanding his punches. Even as Conquest shattered his ribs and eventually punched through his torso to rip out his intestines, Invincible did not relent, ultimately killing Conquest in a final, brutal clash.
    • Superhuman Speed: Conquest can move at extraordinary speeds, capable of traversing the globe in mere minutes, if not seconds. His velocity is paired with heightened reflexes and reaction time, allowing him to track and engage other high-speed opponents with precision. During his battle with Invincible, he moved so quickly that even Kid Omni-Man, arguably the fastest being on Earth, struggled to keep up. Conquest also demonstrated remarkable control at these speeds, abruptly halting mid-flight after Invincible extended his hand to signal him to stop. He is capable of faster than light travel and can cross intergalactic distances within weeks.
    • Superhuman Stamina: Conquest's muscles produce practically no fatigue toxins during physical activity, allowing him to fight and move for an extended period of time.
    • Flight: Due a complex balancing system located in his inner ears, Conquest possesses the ability to levitate and propel himself through the air at will, capable of reaching extreme speeds. He can effortlessly alter his trajectory mid-flight, allowing for sharp turns, sudden stops, and precise aerial maneuvering. His control enables seamless navigation through a wide range of environments.
    • Enhanced Lung Capacity: Conquest possesses extraordinary lung capacity, allowing him to survive without air for extended periods. This ability enables him to operate unhindered in oxygen-deprived environments, such as the vacuum of space without protection.
    • Nigh-Invulnerability: Conquest possesses an exceptional level of durability, allowing him to withstand devastating blows, falls from great heights, and endure the harshest environments without harm. However, his invulnerability was compromised after being infected by the Scourge Virus, which significantly weakened his physiology. During this time, Rognarr managed to tear off Conquest’s right arm and scar his right eye, leaving him permanently blinded on that side. Even high-impact collisions, such as flying directly into Invincible, left him unfazed, and he shrugged off most of the attacks from both Invincible and Kid Omni-Man with little visible damage. In his first battle with Invincible, Conquest remained largely unaffected—even when Invincible unleashed a flurry of attacks while he wasn’t fighting back. One strike did cause him to bleed from the nose and mouth, signaling his first signs of vulnerability. He was also completely unaffected by Atom Eve’s standard energy constructs. As the fight wore on, though, Conquest’s limits began to show. An adrenaline-empowered Invincible was able to inflict real damage, even biting a chunk out of Conquest’s shoulder. Atom Eve’s fully powered energy blast ultimately burned off most of his skin, severely weakening him. This opened the door for Invincible to defeat him with a series of brutal headbutts. After regenerating from that encounter, Conquest demonstrated that much of his durability had returned, effortlessly breaking out of a 400-ton containment unit and surviving the resulting explosion unharmed. However, in his final battle, Invincible was able to land blows that visibly injured him, and Conquest’s resilience finally gave out when he was choked to death.
    • Enhanced Healing Factor: Conquest possesses an extraordinary healing factor, allowing his body to recover from injuries in mere minutes or, at most, within a few days. He can regenerate broken bones, torn muscles, and damaged organs, and even regrow lost body parts without any lasting effects. This healing ability is dependent on the severity of the injury. Additionally, Conquest is virtually immune to most illnesses and contaminants. However, this healing factor has limits. After being infected by the Scourge Virus, his regeneration was severely weakened. He was unable to regrow his torn-off right arm, and his right eye was scarred and blinded by Rognarr. Although he eventually overcame the virus, his healing no longer appeared as potent. His regeneration was further pushed beyond its limits during his final battles. Atom Eve’s fully powered energy blast burned off most of his skin, and the subsequent series of headbutts from Invincible caused massive internal trauma. Though his body remained alive when recovered by the GDA, he was unconscious and slowly healing. Within days, he regenerated enough to break free from a 400-ton containment unit. Ultimately, however, his healing factor couldn’t save him when Invincible choked him to death in their final confrontation.
    • Decelerated Aging: Conquest possesses an exceptionally prolonged lifespan due to his biology, which causes him to age increasingly slower over time. This decelerated aging allows him to maintain peak health, physical conditioning, and combat performance far beyond the natural limits of most beings. Despite being several millennia old and showing visible signs of age, Conquest remains a physically formidable and fully capable warrior, with no apparent decline in strength or efficiency. He is unarguably the oldest Viltrumite.
    • Dominant Genetics: Viltrumites genetics are incredibly potent and adaptive. Conquest, like others of his kind, can reproduce with a wide range of species, with his Viltrumite DNA overwhelmingly asserting itself in the offspring. As a result, the child will typically inherit predominantly Viltrumite traits, often appearing and functioning almost entirely as a Viltrumite. The more genetically compatible the mate’s species is, the faster and more reliably the offspring will manifest the full range of standard Viltrumite abilities.

Abilities[]

  • Hand-to-Hand Combat: Like all the Viltrumites, Conquest was trained in all manners of combat, including hand to hand combat. His fighting style mainly prioritizes heavily overwhelming his opponents with an unrelenting amount of attacks, preferring to viciously mutilate his enemies with extreme skillful brutality and ruthless prowess, rather than strategy. Using psychological warfare tactics to dominate them In the battlefield as the fight prolongs. Highlighting that he’s Viltrums greatest elite warrior under Lord Thragg for a reason, as noted by his former protege Nolan/Omni-Man post burial.
  • Fear Inducement: Due to his sheer unmatched ferocity and sadism, Conquest is dreaded by most beings mainly for how excessively violent he Is In maiming his opponents first, he Is feared by even his fellow Viltumites (such as Anissa, Lucan, and his former protege Nolan) with The only exception to this Is his ruler Thragg, who Is considerably far stronger than he is.

Equipment[]

  • Cybernetic Right Hand: Conquest has been given a cybernetic gauntlet that acts as a prosthetic after he lost his right hand to a Rognarr. He is capable of clenching or opening his fist with it.

Quotes[]

Comics[]

I am Conquest. I have never failed to assimilate a chosen planet, no matter its strength. If you choose to oppose me, you will not survive.
~ Conquest threatening and introducing himself to Invincible.
Right now Anissa would be telling you about how the Viltrum Empire would turn this planet into a utopia. She'd tell you you're a fool to try and prevent this — That we would be helping the people you believe you are protecting from us. I will not tell you any such thing. The truth is, I want you to resist. I'm not here because I want to spread the Viltrum Empire. I'm not here because I believe in one cause or the other, or that I'm fulfilling some kind of honorable duty. I'm here because I enjoy this.
~ Conquest revealing his true motivations to Invincible.
MORE! I WANT MORE!
~ Conquest to Invincible
Dead? Good. I take it I have your full attention now?
~ Conquest to Invincible.
I should do this now — Don’t know when I’ll get this chance again. I want to thank you, Mark Grayson... Invincible. Really. From the bottom of my heart. It’s not often that I get to cut loose like this. I mean really cut loose like I have here. Usually, there are so many mission parameters. "Don’t destroy this." "Keep this person alive." But not here — Not with this planet. For whatever reason, I don’t really care why, to be honest, I was told — take control, no matter what it takes … take control of the planet. So whatever you did to piss us off — thank you. This has been fun.
~ Conquest sadistically "thanks" Invincible for defying the Viltrum Empire — His most famous quote.
Hngh. What? The boy left me alive? Stupid.
~ Conquest escaping from Cecil's prison.
I underestimated the boy. I toyed with him far too long, I gave him time to gain an advantage. I have served you well for many years. Please forgive my carelessness and spare me. I beg you...
~ Conquest begging Thragg for mercy after his failure on Earth.
Putting it all on the table, my orders are simple. Slaughter you and everyone with you. I'm so happy to get another shot at you. I'll admit I underestimated you the first time. I trust you left the girl at home this time? A pity. You've brought along some help, which should make things more interesting. Although, I think you've grossly overestimated the abilities of the Geldarians. They need their technology to hold their heads up. He'll be useless. And the boy, good to see his arm healed. I'll enjoy breaking it again. Mark, I want you to enjoy the show, so I'll be killing you last.
~ Conquest to Invincible, Oliver Grayson and Tech Jacket during the ambush on the Coalition ship.
Nolan! The traitor! I can't believe my luck. I get to kill you, too! What have I done to deserve such fortune?! Your son is so powerful — almost stronger than you. You must be so proud!
~ Conquest while fighting Nolan Grayson.
Invincible: I've fought him before! I can do this! How are you alive?! You died! I saw it! I killed you! Tell me how you lived! TELL ME!
Conquest: I guess you're just not as strong as you thought you were, boy! Now — let's wrap this up! I think I'll pop by that planet of yours after for an encore.
~ Conquest taunting Invincible and threatening to destroy Earth.
You really think I can't make you let go? Looks like I'm changing the death order. You're number one, kid.
~ Conquest taunting Invincible — His last words.
Oliver: Why did you bother burying him? Couldn't we have just thrown him into space?
Nolan: Although he lost his way in his later years, Conquest was the greatest of Viltrumite warriors. That demands a certain level of respect, despite his actions. He deserved a proper burial.
Oliver: He deserved to rot in the sun. You don't know what this guy's done.
Nolan: Everything he's done was in service to the Viltrum Empire. In a way ... that made him a greater man than I.
~ Conquest's funeral.

TV Series[]

Good.
~ Conquest taking satisfaction that Invincible would rather fight him than conquer Earth for the Viltrumites.
Yes. This. I WANT MORE! Very good!
~ Conquest demanding more of Invincible's strength.
Invincible: You still sure this is gonna go your way?
Conquest: Damn near certain.

~ Conquest refusing to let Invincible quit fighting and just talk.
When I am done with you, I am going to kill everyone else.
~ Conquest to Invincible
And you are? I prefer to know who I'm dismembering.
~ Conquest meeting Oliver Grayson.
Idiot. You need all the help you can get. The time I spent killing him might have given you a moment to gather your thoughts. Maybe even out wit me. Where is your Viltrumite heart? Until I see it beating in my hand, I won't believe you have one. Show me your power. Show me your rage!
~ Conquest to Invincible
If that's all you got... this is just not gonna end well for you.
~ Conquest to Invincible
So far, I've been playing with you. Getting to know a new toy. Let's step things up, shall we? Not that I'm not having fun... but I am starting to wonder why they sent me here. Beating you, conquering your pathetic planet. It's too EASY! Fun, but easy.
~ Conquest playfully fighting Invincible
I've met your father, you know. He showed so much promise when he was younger. Now he's dead, executed just before I left. It's sad, really. I would have loved to have seen the look on his face after I told him I killed you.
~ Conquest lying to Invincible about Nolan's execution, just to taunt him.
I'm old, not weak. But thanks for coming back. I'm gonna split you in half and eat your heart. How's that sound?
~ Conquest threatening Oliver.
Take a break while I focus on the boy.
~ Conquest ignoring Invincible to fight Oliver.
We're not done yet. You feel your body starting to rip? First your muscles tear, then your vertebrae, they separate. If you're able to focus through the pain, it's your skin next, pulled to its breaking point, just as it starts to rip. This is going to be amazing.

~ Conquest wearing Atom Eve down.
So pretty. Such a waste.
~ Conquest nearly killing Atom Eve.
Conquest: Aw, such a strong bond. Viltrumites have nothing like this. It's a weakness, really. Delicious. Oh, I am beginning to understand your affinity for these lowly creatures.
Invincible: Eve? Eve...
Conquest: Not long now, huh? If you got anything to tell her, I wouldn't wait. Oh, too late. Good.
~ Conquest taunting Invincible's love for Atom Eve and watching as she dies in his arms.
After all I've done, after all this, you still think you can threaten me? I dare say, child. You are starting to impress me. Do your worst.
~ Conquest taking glee in Invincible's threat and commands him to act on them.
Now we're getting somewhere...
~ Conquest after losing his robotic arm to Invincible.
Getting mad doesn't make you stronger. That's not how it works.
~ Conquest to Invincible
This time... This time I'll make sure she's dead.
~ Conquest swearing to kill Atom Eve for good this time.
Conquest: Got more than enough fight left in me for you, boy. See? More than enough.
Invincible: Not enough. Not nearly. Is this what you wanted? Are you enjoying yourself? Still having fun?! ANSWER ME!
Conquest: I take... the good with the bad.
~ Conquest’s final words before his presumed demise by a furious Invincible.

Trivia[]

  • He is based on Non from DC Comics.
  • He and General Kregg are the only known Viltrumites with mechanical prosthetics (Conquest got a cybernetic right hand and Kregg a cybernetic right eye).
  • He’s the only Viltrumite to a wear the classic Viltrum symbol on his uniform, other then his current ruler the mighty Thragg and agent Anissa. Showcasing that they’re more direct in their approaches than anything.
  • Ryan Ottley revealed an old concept art where Conquest was going to have a full cybernetic right arm, which pieces were able to separate and transform into small robots with Viltrumite fighting techniques.
  • The battle of Conquest and Mark is almost identical between comics and TV series, but with some differences:
    • He only makes the infamous blood-heart for Mark in the show.
    • In the comics, Conquest takes Mark to crash him into a warship, but in the show, he takes Mark to a beach to crash him into everyone in his way, killing people, animals and horrifying Mark in the process.
      • This scene was very similar with the train scene of the first season.
      • The scene where Mark headbutts Conquest and monologues to Conquest about enjoying himself, also mirrors the scene of Omni-Man endlessly punching Mark to death at the Mountain in the season one finale.
    • In the show, his fight against Atom Eve was much longer and took him more effort to defeat her, unlike the comic, where he destroyed her body almost instantly. But alas this showcased his supreme skill and mastery in aerial in H2H combat as he viciously skewered her after dominating Mark majority of their battle.
  • Many fans consider him a great plot device because he broke Mark's no-killing rule by causing massive destruction and almost killing Eve and Oliver in gruesome ways.
  • As well as fans often note that Conquests fighting style albeit reckless Is very masterful In his berserker style. As he loves to maim his opponents, as he enjoys softening them up before the finish, and as this may be seen as a weakness, its what make Conquest dangerously effective.
  • Both Conquest's voice actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Invincible's voice actor Steven Yeun had previously collaborated on the TV show The Walking Dead, which, alike Invincible, was based off a comic by Robert Kirkman.
  • Jeffery Dean Morgan also worked with Shantel Vansanten in the The Boys show which also a series in Amazon Prime Video, Shantel was notable for playing Anissa in the Amazon series.
  • Conquest Is a character that also seems to share distinct similarities with the Elite Saiyan Warrior Nappa from DBZ. Being that both are very skillfully brutally and highly strong and aggressive warriors from elite alien races that prioritize combat above all else to test and push their limits In battle.
  • Also some fans online, noticed the way Conquest bends over backwards to Thragg in the Invincible special comic, similar to how Vegeta is forced to at times restrain or command Nappa to stand down, piccolo even stated that Vegeta was far stronger than even Nappa.
  • Conquest's backstory in the amazon cartoon alludes to Thragg's role as supreme leader and his very existence towering Conquest's reputation and strength. Consider how he mentions to Mark that the all of the viltrumites are scared of him and he is capable of so much more and no one sees that, this indicates that he sees Thragg different than most, and possibly made him a living husk of figure.
  • Fans often compare to him Omni-Man frequently, noting that his former protege Nolan obviously isn’t as strong or as powerful of a warrior as him, nor as capable, as Conquest is noted by fans to be superior to Nolan in raw combative experience, skillful brutality, strength, endurance, and attack potency, often leading fans to the conclusion that Conquest being the physically superior veteran would overwhelm and beat the inferior Nolan in a good battle. However due to his complacency in fights, fans are also aware that Nolan could theoretically take the victory If Conquest isn’t focused. But alas fans are knowledgeable that Conquest Is simply the more impressive Viltrumite than Nolan, given his more potent feared rep.
