Biography[]
Cool Steve felt hatred for African-American people, and because of that he joined Aryan Empire, a racist cult, idolizing Auggie Smith, who was known as White Dragon, while being a racist supervillain. Cool Steve eventually ended up in Evergreen Corrections Center.
One day, while playing cards with his fellow inmates, he noticed Auggie Smith, in prison too. When Auggie demanded seat from African-American inmate, Steve and the other racist inmates stood and watched, making the black inmate feel threatened and gave way to Auggie. As Auggie took his seat, Steve and the other inmates approached him, then knelt before him and saluted, showing their loyalty and admiration for him, and his actions.
Steve and the rest of the Aryan Empire made sure Auggie felt at home in prison by spending time with him and listening to his racist stories before Auggie was called for a visit from his son. Later, while Steve was sitting at the table with the others and Auggie, listening to the stories, Adrian Chase, who had been here to kill Auggie, joined the table. He began taunting and provoking them, speaking favorably of African Americans, which enraged Steve. Adrian continued to provoke him, and Steve tried to punch him, but Adrian blocked his blow and knocked him out against a metal chair.
A few days later, Auggie is released from prison due to Detective Song finding exonerating evidence in his favor, but shortly after, Steve, the rest of the prisoners, and the police officers are infected by the Butterflies, resulting in their deaths, their bodies now being taken over by the Butterflies, who needed human hosts to fulfill their purposes. Butterfly in Steve's body, joins Eek Stack Ik Ik, the Queen of the Butterflies, along with the rest of the transformed, smiling horrifically as they leave the police station.
To carry out the Queen's plan, Steve and the rest of the Butterflies head to the Coverdale Ranch, extracting various teleportation devices from their trucks and taking them beneath the barn to teleport the Cow to another location outside the country. That night, Steve found a bag containing Peacemaker's helmet in a cave beneath the barn, alerting the other Butterflies that John Economos had planted it there, exposing him as the saboteur, which causes the Butterflies to pursue him. Shortly afterward, Steve notices the helmet flashing, and then a sonic boom, activated by Leota Adebayo, is triggered, ripping Steve to pieces and blowing up the barn, saving Economos's life in the process, as the Butterflies panicked over the Cow's condition.
