Victorious Saint Coolgin is the secondary antagonist of Choujinki Metalder. He is the supreme commander of the Neros Empire's Yoroi Army and second-in-command to God Neros himself.

His true identity is unknown and he is seldom seen without his helmet. Secretly, Coolgin underwent plastic surgery to alter his face to resemble Gozo Kirihara/Neros, enabling him to act as a body double.

He was voiced by Atsuo Mori, who would go on to voice Strowver.

Biography[]

Choujinki Metalder[]

Upon learning that Dr. Koga had returned to Japan, God Neros instructed his generals that the scientist must be eliminated as he had discovered Neros' true identity. Coolgin thus sent a force led by Chuubo to assassinate Dr. Koga, but while they succeeded they were unable to stop him from awakening his greatest creation, Metalder. Metalder promptly attacked Chuubo's team upon seeing what they had done and fought them all off, only for Coolgin to intervene to face the android himself. With a single slash, Coolgin seemingly slayed Metalder.

After reporter Shingo Ogi came close to uncovering God Neros' true identity, Coolgin was sent to assassinate him after he returned to Japan. Metalder appeared to defend him and fought off Coolgin, cracking open his helmet and revealing his face was the same as Gozo Kirihara's, causing Coolgin to retreat. Though Coolgin had unwittingly revealed the connection between his identity as Gozo and the Neros Empire, Neros chose to spare Coolgin as he was still useful to him.

As Metalder and Top Gunder headed towards the Kirihara skyscraper to storm it and defeat Neros, Neros made preparations for their arrival. He had the remaining warriors of the Yoroi Army (save for Chuubo and Coolgin) go out to guard the interior of the Kirihara Konzern building and dismissed his other warriors from the Ghost Bank while he made secret preparations with Coolgin, Chuubo and Dranger for his escape. While the Yoroi Army kept Metalder and Top Gunder busy, Coolgin switched places with his body double Neros and stayed behind as Neros to face the two heroic androids. Once Metalder and Top Gunder reached his throne, Coolgin set the Ghost Bank to self-destruct in an attempt to kill both androids. He attempted to bind the two androids with his electric tentacles, but the two were able to fight them off and cause him to become trapped instead. Coolgin then demanded K and S free him, but the pair were unable to and attempted to escape. Before the could however, Coolgin grabbed onto them with his tentacles and forced them to stay behind as the Ghost Bank blew up.

Coolgin's spirit was later summoned by the real God Neros to fight Metalder, but was defeated again and sent back to the afterlife.

Space Sheriff Gavan vs. Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger[]

Coolgin was apparently revived as one of the 12 Apostles of Genmakuu. Following the defeat of Mad Gallant, Benikiba went to assist him in his criminal operation.
