~ Coorta, to his fellow miners |
Coorta was a minor antagonist in the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II who lived about 3,951 years before the Battle of Yavin.
A miner at the Peragus Mining installation, Coorta had been involved in a number of criminal activities in addition to his work mining Peragian fuel from the asteroids that were ejected into space when Peragus II had initially been destroyed. He was involved in smuggling contraband on to the stations, such as weapons grade blasters that had the potential to destroy the Peragus asteroid field should there be a misfire.
Aware that the Exchange had posted a fairly large bounty for Jedi, one of the first things Coorta did when the Ebon Hawk docked at the station with the Jedi Exile Meetra Surik on board was to see if the bounty was still active. Learning that it was Coorta made his desire to sell Surik to the Exchange known before facility security shut that idea down. Coorta decided not to give up so easily and worked with his Exchange contacts to get Surik off the Peragus facility and bound for Nar Shadaa so he could collect on the bounty. However, by then HK-50 decided that Coorta was a liability to the Exchange and killed him and all the other miners on the Peragus station.
