The Cop, also known as the Mall Cop, is a supporting antagonist in the satirical visual novel Class of '09 and its sequels. He is a sadistic, trigger-happy police officer obsessed with enforcing the law who often comes into conflict with protagonists Nicole and Jecka due to their criminal activities.
He is voiced by Josh Tomar, who also voices Johness the Dissector and Menthuthuyoupi from Hunter x Hunter, Zanta Claws from Eddsworld, and Troglor in Smiling Friends.
Biography[]
As his name suggests, the cop is often shown working security in the mall, and as such, he catches Nicole and Jecka shoplifting. When Nicole tries to make a run for it, he closes his eyes and shoots at her five times (later saying shooting blindly is a challenge between him and other officers at his precinct). Nicole is shot in the leg, and the cop says it should be a lesson for her to follow the law in the future. When Jecka asks if he's insane, he goes on a rant about how he hates his wife and intimidates Jecka into stopping her complaints.
The cop is notable for being one of the few male characters who isn't a sexual predator, as when Nicole and Jecka attempt to seduce him into forgetting about their theft, he will remark that, while he would kill his wife first if he ever gets fired, that he isn't interested in having sex with them, and arrests them anyway.
He is also shown to be the school's police liaison, and often works as a security guard in Nicole and Jecka's school, with him being on standby whenever Principal Lynn needs assistance.
Despite being insane and homicidal, the cop often will do his job when called; he arrests Coach Colby and the Counselor if they are reported for trying to molest Nicole, and also arrests Nicole's Brother for possession of child pornography. That said, he also frequently goes overboard when performing his duties, such as when Principal Lynn assigns him to tail Nicole to catch her for dealing drugs, and he ruthlessly guns Mr. Katz down for buying drugs off of Nicole before arresting her.
