Cornet Brothers are supporting antagonists of the 2004 video game Red Dead Revolver who serve as Governor Griffon's personal bodyguards and hit squad.
There are a total of twelve brothers in the family. Only the leader of the brothers, Jason, is a playable character.
Biography[]
The Cornet brothers serve as the Governor's secret agency, hit squad and bodyguards, protecting the governor at all costs (along with his private army) and his mansion. Jason Cornet is the most sadistic of the brothers and Griffon's right-hand-man. Oswald, Brendon, Bryan and Jerome are also seen more frequently in cutscenes than the other brothers.
After Buffalo Soldier survives a stagecoach ride through Hell Pass which was occupied by the Black Elk Tribe, he went straight to the Governor's mansion to warn Griff of the threat that is General Diego. Griff, however, admitted that Diego was his business partner and orders Mr. Kelley, Oswald and Brendon to imprison Buffalo for meddling into their plans.
We then see Jason and Oswald during the Battle Royale on a balcony with Oppressors, protecting Sheriff Bartlett. After the conclusion of the battle, Jason can be talked to in the Brimstone saloon and he'll compliment Red Harlow on his shooting skill. The next day, Jason is seen defending Griff on the balcony again as he changes the competition's rules while Oswald drags the Sheriff into the backroom and beats him up. After Red defeats Mr. Kelley in the battle finale, Griffon and the brothers escape to his mansion.
During the attack on Griffon's mansion by Red, Jack Swift and Annie Stoakes, Griffon orders Oswald to guard his property on the mansion's balcony, but is killed. Randy runs in the battle next but even he is killed. The brothers are then killed by Red at the mansion grounds in order: Bryan, Brendon, Jay, Terry, Kirk, Jerome.
Next, inside the mansion, Red and Jack kill Rhidian who was guarding one of the secret rooms that would lead to the Governor. However, it turns out that Bryan, Randy and Jerome in fact survived the ordeal at the gardens and they kill Jack Swift. Red then meets up with Annie near Griff's library where Russ and Mark are killed.
Finally, the rescued Buffalo and Red head to Griffon's office where Jason, the last brother, sits on the chair. He turns around challenges Red to a duel during which he is killed and falls back on his master's chair.
Members[]
- Jason: Jason is the leader of the agency and presumably the oldest member. He always sticks very close to the Governor like a prop and is his right-hand-man as well. Jason is the only brother encountered outside of missions and can be talked to. Surprisingly, he is very friendly, although his affable nature could not be genuine. According to Sheriff Bartlett's journal, Jason loves to use extreme measures of cruelty on his victims to entertain the Governor. In Showdown mode he uses an Inquisitor and an Escopeta.
- Oswald: Oswald is one of the younger brothers based on his appearance and an expert with a rifle, possibly assuming the role of a sniper for the Governor. He appears close to the Governor, along with Jason, during his cutscene appearances and could possibly be the second-in-command. He shares a character model with Terry and Russ.
- Randy: Randy is probably one of the older brothers and in beta version of the game he sported a ponytail and had Oswald's role. He is the second brother killed and dodges around the mansion's fountain. However, he may have survived the onslaught as he appears once again when the trio of the heroes enter the mansion. He shares the same character model as Kirk.
- Bryan: Bryan also appears to be one of the older brothers and is the third brother killed. However, like with Randy, he appears in a cutscene in the mansion and so he probably survived the ordeal. It is possible he was the one who killed Jack Swift. Bryan shares a character model with Mark. In beta intro of the game, Bryan wore a hat.
- Brendon: Brendon first appears in the ending cutscene of "Hell Pass", imprisoning Buffalo along with Kelley and Oswald. He is later encountered at the mansion's gardens and is killed by Red. He has his own character model.
- Jay: Jay appears to be an older brother and appears at the mansion gardens, along with Terry after Brendon is killed and is killed by Red. He shares the same model as Rhidian.
- Terry: Terry appears at the gardens along with Jay after Brendon is killed, but is also killed by Red. He shares the same model as Oswald.
- Kirk: Kirk appears as one of the last bosses during the "Siege" mission with Jerome and is usually the second to last killed. He shares the same character model as Randy.
- Jerome: Jerome is the last brother encountered during the mansion's siege and is usually the last one killed. Jerome, like Jason and Oswald, is actually one of the more unique brothers and has his own character model. He is also the only brother to use a Zwei Fasser, a hammerless shotgun as a weapon as opposed to all the other brothers using an Inquisitor. It is also possible he was one of the brothers that killed Swift. In beta versions, he had a stripped hat.
- Rhidian: Rhidian is the first brother encountered inside the mansion and is killed by Red who needed to use the secret door to find the Governor.
- Russ: Russ is the third last brother encountered in the mansion and in the game in general and is killed at the mansion's library along with Mark.
- Mark: Mark is the second-to-last brother killed by Red in the mansion, more specifically near the library, before Red goes on and duels with Jason.
