Biography[]
This version of Mark presumably had the same life as his original counterpart, up until his father revealed his true colors as a hegemonic conqueror for Viltrum. Unlike the original, however, he accepted his father's offer and decided to take over Earth, believing he is doing the right thing by protecting people from hunger and cancer, although he would end up killing thousands of civilians in the process.
He ends up being fought by the Immortal but is saved by his father. Later, he makes a broadcast about how his rule is absolute. He finds a resistance base and decimates the population, barring Eve who he decides to only injure and Angstrom Levy who escapes through a portal.
Appearance[]
Physique[]
Mark has black hair with a widows-peak that is combed back with a few strands sticking up, and brown eyes.
Clothing[]
Invincible's hair sticks out of the top of his suit which has a yellow mask with goggles. The suit is yellow down the middle, stopping at his waist in an upside-down triangle shape, it also bears blue on the shoulders and going into the yellow in somewhat of an M shape. The rest of his costume is black aside from the yellow gloves and blue boots that start from his knee's down.
Personality[]
This version of Mark is portrayed as an evil and delusional zealot who is dedicated to achieving the Viltrum Army's goals.
He frames his cruelty as benevolent. He tells Immortal that he is trying to save lives despite directly destroying countless lives and cities. He breaks Atom Eve's spine and paralyzes her, claiming that his affection prevents him from killing her but that he "can't let her hurt anyone else". He blames the death and destruction he creates on the people fighting for freedom, either unable or unwilling to grasp his culpability.
His delusion allows him to seemingly exhibit no hatred towards the subjects of his brutality. He plans to have people care for a disabled Atom Eve and even make personal visits despite being the one to break her spine. Having no regard for the lives or emotional well being of humans especially resistance fighters, he smiles and employs a condescending tone when preparing to kill people like Angstrom despite the anger and fear they display.
History[]
Backstory[]
Mark Grayson was born to Nolan Grayson, a Viltrumite male, and Debbie Grayson, a human female. At some point, Mark would gain his abilities and become the superhero known as "Invincible". Sometime later, Mark would have a temporary relationship with another hero, Atom Eve. While it is unknown what caused it, Mark would accept his father's offer in joining the Viltrum Empire.
Decimating Earth[]
After accepting the offer, the duo decimated Earth, leaving only a small handful of heroes and human armies to stop them, along with causing Eve to turn against him after learning of his sinister actions. They also presumably destroyed the Global Defense Agency, killed the Guardians of the Globe and any remaining heroes left such as Rex Splode, leaving only heroes like Eve, Robot, and the Immortal to fight back against them.
At another point, Invincible finally managed to kill Rex.
At another point, He and Omni-Man had killed thousands of people because of Eve's team during their attempts to swoon the earth over to their leisure.
Destroying the Resistance[]
Invincible would be seen in the skies fighting against the Immortal. With Nolan's help, Invincble was able to get the upper hand against him and permanently kill him off by crushing his decapitated head. While Nolan remarks on his disappointment with the Immortal's resistance, the two of them realize that he was merely a distraction as they discovered an underground resistance team in the wreckage of the city.
Upon discovering the location of their enemies, they realized that the rebellion was being led by Robot and Eve, two of the few heroes who remained in the aftermath of their oppressive rule. While Omni-Man confronted Robot, Mark faced off against Eve, who still harbored a twisted sense of care for him. Ultimately, Mark decides to spare Eve by paralyzing her, explaining that he has "friends" who would take care of her so he can visit her during his spare time. After dealing with all the heroes, Invincible and Omni-Man eliminated the last of the resistance, but not before one of them managed to escape.
Afterwards, the two went out for dinner, possibly to Burger Mart, as Omni-Man was hungry after missing lunch due to a riot in Bangkok.
Legacy[]
The Angstrom of the main universe, would be traumatized by this Angstrom's memory of Invincible as well as the memories of many other of his variants which would drive him to seek vengeance on the mainstream Invincible.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Viltrumite-Human Physiology: Corrupted Invincible possesses all the powers of his main timeline counterpart. He is a Human-Viltrumite hybrid, though his Viltrumite genes overshadow his Human genes, making him almost a pure-blooded Viltrumite.
- Anger Empowerment: Mark possesses a unique ability to increase his strength significantly when he experiences intense emotions. his adrenaline surge acts like a second wind, giving him an advantage in combat. Several instances demonstrate this.
- Decelerated Aging: Mark possesses an extraordinary lifespan. This stems from his body gradually aging slower the longer he lives. From this, it allows him to retain his health, vitality, conditioning, performance, and youthful appearance that much longer. As Nolan notes, Mark will live for thousands of years and still remain in his prime.
- Dominant Genes: Mark's genetics are so potent, he can reproduce with almost any other race and his genetics will almost completely overshadow the inherit genetics of the mate, making said offspring almost purely Viltrumite themselves. Likewise, the more naturally compatible the genetics are to the mate's race, the sooner and more likely the offspring will inherit all the standard Viltrumite abilities.
- Flight: Mark can levitate himself in the air and propel himself in any direction he desires, perform aerial maneuvers in mid-flight, able to alter his trajectory mid-flight, letting him maneuver seamlessly through various environments. He likewise is able to fly as fast as he can physically run. He is also able to fly through space.
- Nigh-Invulnerability: Mark has a remarkable degree of resilience, which renders him unharmed against all but the strongest of threats. He is unfazed by virtually any environment, or lack thereof. He can withstand recoil of his own speed.
- Reactive Adaptation: Mark is instinctual and in short periods of time able to improve. The more he struggles, the more his physical strength, speed, and durability progressively will augment in correlation with the level of adversity he faces or the severity of injuries he recovers from.
- Regenerative Healing Factor: Mark can heal from most injuries, even those that would normally kill humans, in short periods of time with no lingering signs, even regenerating lost anatomy like teeth, provided the injury does not prove immediately fatal.
- Superhuman Lung Capacity: Mark possesses the remarkable physiological ability to sustain his breath for extended periods of time, spanning several weeks.
- Superhuman Senses: Mark possesses an exceptional auditory perception surpassing human capabilities, allowing him to discern sounds emanating from considerable distances and selectively drown out specific noises shown when he was flying in the air and heard sirens. His vision is equally advanced, able to discern distant objects with the same clarity as though they were in close proximity. Likewise, this grants him an equally powerful equilibrium and balance, able to maintain his stability and poise even in challenging situations.
- Superhuman Speed: Mark can move at incredible speeds, able to move multiple times faster than the speed of sound. He can easily achieve escape velocity of earth. It is said that he is far faster than Immortal.
- Superhuman Stamina: Mark can sustain physical exertion for prolonged periods of time without showing any signs of exhaustion. He can likewise endure some of the most grievous of injuries that would instantly kill a human, excluding too much harm to his heart or brain.
- Superhuman Strength: Mark demonstrates extraordinary physical strength, which allows him to lift massive vehicles, buildings and break through strong structures like concrete walls and reinforced steel with ease.
Abilities[]
- Expert Combatant: In his complete acceptance of his Viltrimite heritage, Mark apparently was fully trained as a soldier for the Viltrum Empire. To which, he proved very powerful and efficient, able to fight on par with The Immortal and shrug off the mighty hero's punches. Likewise, he was shown able to easily destroy Atom Eve's energy constructs.
Weaknesses[]
- Excessively High Frequency: High-frequency noise can have harmful effects on the ears of Viltrumites. It disturbs their balance, restricts their flying capability, induces severe pain, and could potentially lead to their death. The frequency's intensity dictates the degree of pain felt.
- Extreme Force: Even though Viltrumites rank among the universe's mightiest, they are not entirely invincible. Viltrumites are vulnerable to entities with comparable or superior strength.
