History

Russell Bufalino, a high-ranking mob boss, introduces Frank Sheeran to the inner workings of the Mafia. Through Russell, Frank becomes a trusted enforcer, carrying out various tasks for the organization. The Cosa Nostra is shown to have deep connections with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, especially under the leadership of Jimmy Hoffa. While the Mafia initially supports Hoffa's rise to power, their relationship deteriorates when Hoffa, after serving time in prison, attempts to reclaim control of the union without acknowledging the Mafia’s influence. This resistance makes him a liability in their eyes.
