The Cosmic Jelly Monsters are the main antagonists of the 2023 video game SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, based on the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise.
They are monsters that were created when SpongeBob had extracted large amounts of Cosmic Jelly from reality after obtaining Neptune's bubble soap from Madame Kassandra.
Biography[]
Origin[]
After SpongeBob and Patrick leave from Glove World, they come across a fortune-teller mermaid named Madame Kassandra, who apparently has been stealing all sorts of magical artifacts from across the seas. They order some of Neptune's bubble soap, which Madame Kassandra doesn't disclose to them, so that they can make the wishes of the Bikini Bottom citizens come true. When they do this, this creates multiple rifts in reality, and spawns hundreds upon hundreds of monsters made out of cosmic jelly, which Kassandra explains is the glue that makes up all of reality.
Members[]
Jelly[]
The most basic and common enemy in the game. They are small creatures that all wear nothing but tighty-whities and have a large eyestalk on top of their bodies. They are usually seen carrying either a shovel or a pitchfork with a cactus on it to hit SpongeBob with. When they see SpongeBob they will charge towards him to hit him with the object that they are carrying. They are fast, but can be defeated with only one hit. They drop two jellies when defeated.
Tartar Jelly[]
Stationary jellies that carry a large container of tartar sauce in their mouths. They attack SpongeBob when he is nearby by shooting the sauce at him. They usually take two hits to defeat. They drop four jellies when defeated.
Jelly Maker[]
Large stationary jellies that spawn other jellies, hence the name. They appear as a large pile of Cosmic Jelly with multiple eyes and mouths. In a select amount of time they will spawn other enemies that SpongeBob had encounter thus far. When he attacks them, they give out a mighty roar that tosses him back. They usually thake three hits to defeat. They drop six jellies when defeated.
Big Jelly[]
Large musclar jellies that carry bathtubs. These start off as being rare enemies, but become much more common from Medieval Sulfer Fields and onwards. When SpongeBob is nearby, it will slowly charge at SpongeBob, and whack him with the bathtub it is carrying. The only way to defeat them is to wait for it to attack with the bathtub, and then attack them when they're tying to recover. They usually take three hits to defeat. They drop six jellies when defeated.
Ninjelly[]
Small jellies that attack by charging quickly at SpongeBob when he is nearby. They appear as small spherical creatures with a large vertical mouth with a large set of teeth. The best way to defeat them is to have them charge towards SpongeBob, and have them it a wall or barrie, stunning them. While stunned, they become much more vulnerable to the player's attacks. They are defeated with only one hit. They drop four jellies when defeated.
Baby Boom[]
Baby-like jellies that fly in a duck-shaped floty. When they target the player they will fling a glob of cosmic jelly at them by whacking it with their lollipops. While it's possible to take them out directly, the best way to defeat them is to fling their jelly back at them with the spin attack. They usually take two hits to defeat. They drop four jellies when defeated.
Slamvil[]
Flying cube-shaped jellies that attack by stomping on the ground when the player is nearby. They take only one hit to defeat. They drop four jellies when defeated.
Spooky Jelly[]
Angler-fish-like jellies that cast light from their lamp-shade-like antaneae. They are excluisvely found in Halloween Rock bottom, where they roam around the area. When the player is in their field of vision, they will shoot a blue laser at them, damaging them and freezing them in place in a block of ice. This can be avoided either by sneaking in a bush or avoiding their field of vision entirely. They are immune to almost all attacks, but the only way to defeat them is to sneak up from behind them, and then scare them. They drop four jellies when defeated.
Boxing Jelly[]
Balls of cosmic jelly that have conjoined faces. The tongues from each of those faces have one boxing glove attached to them, which they use to strike the player with. When the player attacks them, they split into two smaller jellies, each of which taking one hit to defeat. Each of the smaller jellies drop one jelly when defeated.
Burrower[]
Collosal horned sandworm-like jellies that burrow under the ground. They will follow the player when they are near by, and then come out of the ground to attack them. They can only be defeated by using the Grand Slam attack when they are nearby, so that they can come out of the ground stunned. These enemies usually take three hits to defeat. They drop six jellies when defeated.
Squid Jelly[]
Powerful squid-like jellies that levitate in the air. When the player is nearby, they will either spit two squid-shaped porjectiles at time, or they will shower down loads of saliva onto them. As they are airborne, they can only be defeated with long-range attacks. It is recommended that you defeat them using the reeflower, using it to suck up its projectiles and shoot them back at it. This enemy will only appear once or twice in every area that it is present in. They are the most powerful enemy in the game, as they usually take six hits to defeat. They drop six jellies when defeated.
Jelly Squidward[]
Transformed from Squidward by Madame Kassandra. SpongeBob must defeat him in a boss fight between him and Madame Kassandra. Jelly Squidward is the final boss of The Cosmic Shake. There is also a achievement involving Jelly Squidward called "Tentacle Dodger." Requires the player to not get hit by Jelly Squidward's tentacles during the boss fight
