Count Chuck is the primary antagonist from the 1993 Apogee game Monster Bash.

Biography[]

When Johnny Dash's pet dog Tex goes missing, he hears from the Bed Monster that Count Chuck has taken Tex away along with a great deal of other pets. As Johnny progresses through the Underworld, Count Chuck belittles him and conjures up a doppelganger of the young boy. After defeating his nemesis, Count Chuck tells him, the doppelganger will be back when he is stronger. Johnny's rampage eventually takes him below a haunted house where he destroys the Cyclops monster. Count Chuck reveals that the Cyclops was his favourite, but plans to turn Tex into one like it. He proceeds to send two devils that drag Johnny into the demon realm to be cooked for dinner.

Johnny escapes and continues his rampage against the monsters. Count Chuck is irritated and unleashes the doppelganger again, but Johnny defeats him a second time. Johnny infiltrates the evil laboratory and destroys the count's top scientist Igor, who was in the middle of developing a potion that would turn pets into monsters. Count Chuck sends Johnny to a deserted town hoping to rid of him with his most fearsome monsters out there.

Johnny travels through the count's most nightmarish lands and eventually Count Chuck summons his doppelganger for the final time. After Johnny destroys his nemesis once and for all, he takes the flying broom, which allows him to enter the count's fortress. Once inside the fortress, Johnny goes up the spiralling pit. To defeat Count Chuck, first Johnny destroys his collection of brooches that protect him, then he destroys all his bats and finally he causes him to plummet down the pit into a set of stalagmites, impaling him through the heart. After that all pets are liberated and monsters are no longer a threat.
