Count Jack Zap (Count Jack Electel in the Japanese version) is a human operator and an antagonist in the Mega Man Battle Network series. He operates ElecMan.EXE and is an agent for the WWW in his only appearance in the games.

Biography[]

Mega Man Battle Network[]

He appears as a WWW henchman tasked with stealing a superprogram from a power plant. He sends his Navi, ElecMan, to the generator computer to find and steal it, hijacking the place in the process. While ElecMan does succeed in finding the superprogram and sending it to Lord Wily, he loses to Lan and MegaMan. While his appearance in this game is brief, he is referenced in later titles, and ElecMan makes several more appearances. In the second game in the series, it is revealed that Magnus Gauss, a character who appears in that game and is given more backstory, is his long-lost brother. The games mention this detail as a small detail in passing, though the anime explores their brotherly relation in more detail.

Mega Man NT Warrior[]

While Count Zap is more serious and loyal to Lord Wily in the game, he is seen as a comparative goofball in the anime, on par with other World Three members such as Mr. Match and Ms. Madd. He does, however, get into more shenanigans. While he does start out as a major antagonist, he becomes more of a neutral ally to the protagonists. He also seems to be a fan of heavy metal music and mayhem.

Later in the show, however, He confronts his brother, Magnus Gauss, and two reveal a bitter hatred for each other due to having lived completely different lives. He challenges his brother to a NetBattle for the Wily Chip, and while they lose the chip to the sea, ElecMan still pins Magnus Gauss's NetNavi, MagnetMan, during the fight, only to sacrifice himself to finish both of them off.
