~ Count Spankulot |
Count Spankulot is a supporting antagonist in the 2002-08 Cartoon Network animated series Codename: Kids Next Door.
He is a vampire who disciplines those who have committed wrongdoings, most of which being children. He does this through breaking into their homes at night and spanking them.
He is shown to be physically abusive with how he delivers punishment and does so without remorse, sometimes not even if his victims have done something immoral. Despite this, he is shown to be approachable and even tries to do good, though he always goes back to his old ways of spanking others.
He is voiced by Daran Norris, who also voices Jorgen Von Strangle and Anti-Cosmo from The Fairly OddParents, Chameleon from T.U.F.F. Puppy, Knock Out from Transformers Prime, Jack Smith in American Dad, and Destructo Man from Go Go Moba Boy.
Biography[]
Major Appearances[]
Operation C.A.N.N.O.N.[]
After Numbuh 1 leaves to go to an amusement park, Count Spankulot appears as one of the three villains that attack Sector, with the Proper Patrol and the Delightful Children attacking afterwards. This urges Numbuh 4 to become the temporary leader of the base and forces the other members to build a Clam Cannon.
Operation S.P.A.N.K.[]
Appearing as the main antagonist of the episode, the count is seen spanking many children for their misdeeds. However, when he one day spanked an innocent kid, he was sentenced to jail and tried to use his powers for the greater good instead when he was released. He joins the Kids Next Door after he defeated Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb. The KND soon found him to be a nuisance and tried to be rid of him by sending him to spank Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb again, unbeknownst to him, the house he went into was actually the residence of the judge who had sentenced him prior. He would be convicted after spanking him and his wife, but would then spank the KND after he realizes they had planned to get rid of him.
Operation L.O.C.K.D.O.W.N.[]
Count Spankulot hypnotizes Numbuh 1 to go to the jail he was being held out, where he would turn him into a Spank-Happy Vampire. Sector V had locked themselves inside the treehouse with the now transformed Numbuh 1. He would then use his powers to transform the other members of Sector V with the exception of Numbuh 5. The KND visit Count Spankulot since the only way to revert the changes of being a Spank-Happy Vampire is to spank Count Spankulot himself.
Operation S.P.A.N.K.E.N.S.T.I.N.E[]
The Vampire has his powers transferred into Numbuh 3's dead Rainbow Monkey doll after Mushi Sanban uses it to create the Spankenstine Monster. Numbuh 2 encounters it and manages to make it remember who it once was, but it soon met its end after Joe Balooka with a water balloon and electrocuting it after it came into contact with some power lines. Count Spankulot recovers his power after biting the Rainbow Monkey doll and then spanks Mushi for doing this to him. He is then seen with Gilligans and the Sanbans enjoying some Ice Cream.
Appearance[]
Count Spankulot is a thin adult vampire with pale white skin, smooth black hair, and pointy ears. He also wears a grey suit and a Medallion with a purple S on it.
Personality[]
Count Spankulot's mission in life is to search the world for naughty children and spank them for whatever they did wrong. He believes he is on the path of justice for doing this, and that his actions are good. He is very passionate about his work, and possibly addicted, as in Operation: S.P.A.N.K., he is shown sneaking off to spank Numbuh 3's toys when he had vowed not to spank children anymore.
Spankulot becomes fairly over-excited at times, such as over Rainbow Munchies which he enjoys. He is generally optimistic and upbeat, although he is prone to bouts of anger and rage.
While he associates with KND villains, on certain occasions he is friendly with the kids, far more so (and more often) than the other villains, and may essentially be on the same side when a child villain is behind the scenes, such as in Operation: S.P.A.N.K.E.N.S.T.I.N.E. He even worked with Numbuh Ouch. He is also an honorable person as he only preys on guilty children who deserved to get spanked as he shows distress upon realizing he had accidentally spanked an innocent child rather than a naughty one, stating he "would never spank an innocent child." This shows that he is actually rather quite moralistic compared to other adult enemies of the KND. This is especially since in all of his appearances, he has never been shown deliberately threatening the lives of children, much less any genuine cruelty towards them.
He tends to speak and move very dramatically for effect when battling or about to punish someone. He can also go on and on about himself as seen in some episodes such as Operation: S.P.A.N.K. and Operation: S.P.A.N.K.E.N.S.T.I.N.E. In Operation: A.W.A.R.D.S. Numbuh 4 calls him a "Prima Villain" in response to his prima-donnalike behavior at the awards.
Overall, he may be a dangerous and creepy villain to most human children, such as Sector V, but he is still a surprisingly lonely person who gets tired of feeling left out due to him being a vampire.
Trivia[]
- Count Spankulot is based on Count Dracula and Spanking (the act of hitting someone or something on the posterior with force).
- Count Spankulot is the only villain from the show to have his theming be based on a mythical creature.
- He is the only villain from Codename: Kids Next Door to have received legal punishment.
- Much like vampires, he dislikes garlic and sunlight. However it does not appear to be lethal to him, unlike actual vampires.
- Due to him constantly siding with the KND, specifically Sector V, as well as only spanking kids who deserve it, Spankulot can be considered more of an anti-hero.
- He can see as a foil to Knightbrace and Tolienator. Both are highly incompetent villains out to prove themselves, but Spankulot is just trying to discipline children.
