Craig the Devil is a supporting character in the SML plush comedy YouTube series.
He is the series' interpretation of The Devil of the Judeo-Christian religion.
However in contrast to the biblical figure, he is instead a more affable Satanic figure with Dracula-like characteristics that first appeared in Evil Bowser when Braxton performs a demonic ritual to summon him. He acts very professionally and commits various acts of mischief because he loves being evil.
Craig also appears as the main antagonist of the non-canon video Schizophrenia Case Study where he tells a woman named Maria Gonzalez, who suffers from schizophrenia to cut her wrist and put her son Felipe in the microwave. In this video he represents the serious effects that schizophrenia can have on a person's mind.
He is voiced by Chris Netherton (also known as Pablo Sanchez), who also voiced Nancy (despite being a female), Does Bad Things Guy, Brooklyn T. Guy, Bully Bill, The Loan Dolphin, Mr. Winkle, Greg and many more in the same series.
Biography[]
Craig the Devil was created by God, in 1 AD originally as an angel, during his college years, he borrowed a book and never returned it, which may be an early stage of his Satanism and subtle defiance to God.
When Adam was created, he made him grab a red apple instead of the green one like God ordered Adam to do. causing him and His Rebel Angels to leave heaven and go to earth, shortly after the War in Heaven (If it's to Be Considered A Canon Event), he later said the reason he was punished was because he grabbed the red apple, instead of the green one, after that, God turned him into a devil and made him the ruler of Hell.
During his time in Hell, he became friends with Hitler, and they sometimes wrote rap songs, and later owned a car dealership named "Crazy Craig's".
Personality[]
Craig is obsessed with being seen as evil and taking souls. He seems to admire very evil people like Adolf Hitler even being one of his best friends. Despite being this however, Craig is not completely evil since he tells Duggie to stop being a criminal, and gives Junior consequences for killing Chef Pee Pee which caused the latter to turn evil, and in the end stopped Evil Chef Pee Pee from killing Junior to teach him a lesson. As Nanny Nesbit however, he is shown to be abusive, constantly mistreating Jeffy for any reason to the point where even Mario thinks he is going too far, despite not treating Jeffy the best himself.
He is pretty dedicated to his job but he really doesn’t like it as it’s just him doing Paper Work. He always helps someone only if they give their soul to Craig or the only way Craig can revive a being is by turning them evil. This is shown when Joseph needed a new shell so Craig gave him a new one in exchange for Joseph’s soul. And he did revive Jeffys dog but turned him evil.
Everyone related to Craig in someway is evil themselves. Craigs cat Lucifur is a feral and aggressive cat who even killed Brooklyn Guys nurse. One of Craig’s best friends is no other than Adolf Hitler.
Trivia[]
- In 2017, Logan has confirmed that Craig will no longer appear in SuperMarioLogan because Logan gets demonetized when he uses Craig in a video. However, it was confirmed that Craig will appear in The SML Movie. Despite Logan confirming that Craig will not appear in videos anymore, Craig reappeared in the 2018 halloween video, The Costume Contest!, which implies that Logan possibly changed his mind.
- In SML Movie: Summer School! Part 3, Craig stated that he has a father who is disappointed in his lack of evilness.
