Enough... Enough! Enough! Enough! I ask you where you got the drugs, and all you've done is tell me one stupid, pointless story after another. First, you wouldn't talk. Now... I'm begging you to shut up. Well, story time is over, bitch. Now, either you tell me where you got them, or I pull this trigger and your wife dies thinking you ran out on her. I'm not even gonna count. If you don't start talking by the time I stop, I swear to God...
Craven is an antagonist in The Walking Dead, serving as the main antagonist for the episode "Here's Negan". He is the leader of the Valak's Vipers, a biker gang that robs other survivors.
Nothing is known about Craven before the outbreak other than he was the leader of a biker gang in Ohio, at some point the gang relocated to Virginia, where they would plunder and rob other survivors at night. Taking supplies, guns, medicine, food, and anything that could be helpful.
The Walking Dead[]
Twelve years ago, during the beginning of the outbreak. Craven has a terrified Negan tied to a chair. Negan starts pleading with Craven to let him go since his wife, Lucille has cancer and needs to be cared for. Negan tells Craven that this will be killing them both but he is sarcastic and pretends to be sympathetic toward him. Craven continues to interrogate Negan about where he got the chemotherapy drugs, Negan gave up where he got the drugs, he got them from a medical trailer but when Craven and his men looked it wasn't there. Craven is determined to get the information out of Negan. Eventually, Negan cracks because Craven would destroy the drugs by taking them out of its cooler, Negan explains to the bikers where they can find the trailer and who's in it.
Craven interrupts Negan and pulls out his gun, threatening to kill Negan, Negan knowing he needs to get back to his wife asks him to hand him his map, showing the bikers where the trailer is. Negan is eventually released and can see the doctor Franklin and his adopted daughter Laura, who can be seen struggling with the bikers inside of the medical trailer. Which is brought back to the biker's compound.
Later that night, Craven and his men are torturing Franklin, who demands Franklin tells them where he got the drugs. Negan returns with his baseball bat and kills one of the bikers, he then takes a gun and murders all the bikers single-handedly. Craven is eventually left by himself, Negan knocks on the door and breaks the glass, and Craven starts blindly shooting and completely breaks the glass door. Franklin breaks free of his binds and hits Craven in the back with a chair. Before Craven can get up, Negan emerges with a gun and knocks Craven out. He tells Franklin to escape and gives him a gun.
When Craven wakes up, he is tied to a chair and has Negan standing right in front of him. Negan remarks on the irony of the situation and then tells Craven a story. Stating that he hasn't killed anyone before tonight, Negan then tells Craven how he one time almost beat a man to death over a jukebox. He explains that he saw red and beat him until he started to wail, this got him fired from his job as a gym teacher at the local school. After Negan finishes his story, he tells Craven "this is for not killing me". Negan then takes his bat, who was named after his late wife and bashes Craven on the head with it. Craven is brutally beaten to death.
Personality[]
Craven is selfish and remorseless, he comes off as a cruel man. He taunted Negan about his dying wife while pretending to be sympathetic. He threatens to kill Negan, Craven is shown to be somewhat honorable, keeping his word about letting Negan go if he gave up where the medical trailer is. While tied up, Craven doesn't say a word, he doesn't beg for mercy, showing that Craven isn't a coward.
