The Crazy Taxi Driver is the main antagonist in the Red Hot Chilli Peppers music video for By The Way.

He was portrayed by Dave Sheridan.

He first appears when Anthony Kiedis is calling for a cab and he picks him up upon realising who he is he decides to put in a Chilli's CD, Anthony smiles at this however the driver suddenly loses his mind and starts driving out of control all through town. Anthony attempts to call for help but the driver hits the brakes violently and he drops his phone. He mockingly laughs at Kiedis before tossing his phone out of the window. The driver then goes under a bridge and lights two flares and begins dancing ridiculously giving Kiedis enough time to page his fellow band members Flea and Frusciante. The driver gets back in the car but Flea and Frusciante arrive in Flea's Bronco and a wild chase begins after two failed escape attempts Anthony finally breaks the window and makes it into the Bronco. At the end of the video another member of the band Chad Smith is seen calling for a cab, and the crazy driver picks him up.

  • Dave Sheridan played another deranged fan in the music video for Universally Speaking as he is attempting to get his way into their concert without paying however it is unknown if these are supposed to be the same character.
