Cronicle Asher is an ace pilot of the Zanscare Empire and the secondary antagonist of Moblie Suit Victory Gundam.
He clashed with Uso Evin several times throughout the series, forming a rivalry with him that mirrored that of Amuro Ray and Char Aznable.
He was voiced by the late Tomoyuki Dan, who later portrayed Shinkuro Isaka in Kamen Rider W.
History[]
Cronicle Asher is the younger brother of Maria Pia Armonia, the queen of the Zanscare Empire, making him the uncle to Maria's daughter Shakti. After Zanscare was formed, Cronicle rose through the ranks of Zanscare's military, obtaining the rank of Lieutenant and becoming Zanscare's flying ace.
After Katejina Loos was captured by the Zanscare, Cronicle stopped some soldiers from raping her and took her under his protection, resulting in her developing stockholm syndrome and falling in love with him. She would later join BESPA and become a mobile suit pilot to fight alongside him, growing more insane in the process.
Dissatisfied with the fact that his sister was being used as a puppet by Fonse Kagatie, Cronicle began plotting with Katejina to overthrow Kagatie and take control of his Angel Halo superweapon in order to conquer the Earth Sphere himself. He was later killed when his mobile suit was damaged by Uso during the Battle of Angel Halo, dying while hallucinating a vision of his sister and calling out her name.
Personality[]
Cronicle is a soldier who will do as he is ordered, though he is noted of being critical of pilots who will bomb an area just to draw out a single renegade mobile suit. However, he is also a person who will not complain or criticize an order handed down from a superior officer to do the very same action. He is a man capable of ignoring the taunts of others about his failures. Cronicle has little interest in non-combatants and will order civilian children away from areas of danger.
He has an unusual habit of wearing a face-mask whenever he is piloting, but he does not wear it at other times.
