Some of my people are dead. Some of yours are dead. Outcome didn't change, though. Think on that a minute. The outcome didn't change.

~ Crow Daddy to Abra Stone.
Crow Daddy is the secondary antagonist of Stephen King's 2013 novel, Doctor Sleep and its subsequent film adaptation. He is a member of the True Knot and the occasional lover and right-hand man to Rose the Hat. He helps track down children with psychic abilities so that the cult can torture and kill them to feed off of their Shining ability, which they call "Steam".
In the film adaptation, he was portrayed by Zahn McClarnon, who played Hanzee Dent in the TV series Fargo.
Not much is known about Crow Daddy's backstory except that his birth name is Henry Rothman and he was picked up by Rose while working as a lawyer. He had graduated from Harvard in 1938. His exact age is never stated and he is the member of the True Knot that truly does not age.
Although he is second-in-command inside of the True Knot, Crow Daddy does not seem to shine as brightly as some of the other members of the cult. He doesn't often use supernatural powers, instead relying on his charisma, intelligence, and strength to complete his goals and help out the True Knot.
Crow is very caring toward all members of the True Knot, especially Rose. Whilst this may be the case, Rose doesn't consider him good enough to be a leader, as he does not possess the abilities required to lead the True Knot. Despite this, Crow accepts his role as second-in-command and follows Rose's orders very nicely.
Crow is the first to tell Rose of the dangers of losing steam, urging her to quickly go after some more people so that they can eat some more. When Snakebite Andi and the rest of the Knot go after Bradley Trevor, Crow watches out and makes sure that the Knot is safe and secure.
While killing Bradley Trevor, whom Abra called the "Baseball Boy", Crow himself senses Abra and later tells Rose that he saw somebody with a lot of steam spy in on them when they were eating the baseball boy. After Rose encounters Abra, her and Crow learn of how truly powerful Abra is and decide to track her down for her steam.
Rose chooses Crow to helm the Abra kidnapping. He chooses a crew that includes Walnut, Jimmy Numbers, Barry the Chink, and Snakebite Andi. On the way to get her, most of Crow's crew dies from the measles contracted from Bradley. Crow survives for a bit longer and is able to escape before the crew confronts Danny, Dr. John, and David at Cloud Gap, where the remaining crew is killed.
He is able to track down Billy Freeman, who is with Abra, and kidnaps her. When Abra wakes up, he threatens to kill Billy if she does not follow his instructions. Abra is able to contact Danny through the Shining, and Danny takes over Abra's physical body. Through Abra, Danny is able to take control of Crow's mind and force him to shoot himself in the head.
Film[]
In the film, Crow Daddy is shown to shine much more. He is also less involved with Rose. He essentially is the same as in the novel, but only Rose discover that Abra is watching them kill Bradley Trevor, not Crow Daddy. He is also killed when Danny Torrance crashes a car while psychically interacting in Abra's body instead of having his mind taken control of.
