The Cruel King is the main antagonist of chapter 1 of the 2024 Roblox RPG game Block Tales.
He is the mean and cruel leader of the Blackrock Kingdom. Manipulated by voices in his head, the Cruel King steals the Ice Dagger, thinking it will prevent the Blackrock Kingdom from being doomed.
Appearance[]
His features include blue eyes, a crown, gray slacks, a shirt that is maroon, and black sleeves.
Personality[]
The Cruel King is a cruel and oppressive ruler, hence his name. Despite this nature, he is shown to care about his kingdom and people, stealing the Ice Dagger, thinking it will keep them safe. He also becomes friendlier towards the player after several rematches against him in the Cold Nirvana.
Biography[]
At the start of chapter 1, one of the townspeople warns the player of the Cruel King and how he stole the Ice Dagger. The player then goes on a quest to get to the Blackrock castle and defeat the Cruel King.
After going through the Blackrock Castle, the player enters the Cruel King's throne room. The Cruel King starts ranting about how the player had broke in and dismantled all of his knights, claiming that the player is no better than anyone else. He then reveals that a voice told him that the Blackrock Kingdom will cease to exist if he doesn't keep the Ice Dagger. He then says how he will rewrite the Blackrock Kingdom's future, no matter what it takes. A boss fight against the Cruel King is then initiated.
After the Cruel King is defeated, he apologizes to the voice and is in disbelief at the fact that he had just been defeated. The Cruel King then starts feeling cold, and then dies, leaving his skeleton.
In the Cold Nirvana, after refighting the Cruel King a few more times, he realizes how vile his actions were, and that he had only done everything to protect his people. After this, the Cruel King can still be fought where he trains the player.
