Count Cruhteo (クルーテオ伯 Kurūteo-haku) is a character that appears in the ALDNOAH.ZERO television series. He holds the title of Count as a member of the Orbital Knights. He pilots the Martian Kataphrakt Tharsis.
Personality[]
Count Cruhteo is an extremely proud individual. He strongly believes in the strength of VERS and its people, which is part of the reason why he treats the humans of earth as filth. He is also a man loyal to the royalty of VERS, however he is not hesitant to use the death of Princess Asseylum Vers Allusia as an excuse to go to war, showing his darker side. Cruhteo seems to respect those who are loyal and do not give up.
When he discovers the conspiracy of the orbital knights to kill the princess, he decides that his loyalty is more important than his military conquests. He was also willing to ask the EU for help, hinting that his prejudice against those of Earth had diminished.
History[]
He tries to dissuade Princess Asseylum from her goodwill visit to Earth, as shown in Princess of VERS. After the attempted assassination on the princess, he supported an invasion of Earth. He landed his Landing Castle in Tokyo, hoping to be the first to investigate the princess' apparent death. He was convinced by Sir Trillram to let him be the one to plant a flag on the location of the failed assassination as a symbolic gesture. In reality, Trillram wanted to cover up the fact that it was his faction who committed the assassination from Cruhteo.

Count Cruhteo shows a lot of hate towards Princess Asseylum's best friend as Slaine was born on Earth. However, when he discovers that Slaine came down to earth to find the princess and not tell anyone for fear of traitors, he gains respect for the boy, unfortunately they could not reconcile.
