Cthulhu is a monster that appears in the comic Godzilla vs. Cthulhu: A Death May Die Story.
History[]
Ctnulhu was woken up by the Nightmare Children when they realize they are about to be discovered and woke up Cthulhu by offering all of Boston as a sacrifice. As Cthulhu rose up Sandra can feel his presense as many marine life died out, However it also woke up Godzilla from his slumber.
Cthulhu would surface from Boston where the Great Old One rampages across the city where military attempts to subdue him by dropping bombs on him to no avail before summoning monsters to destroy some of the planes. As Cthulhu rampages the Great Old one grabs people with his tentacles and destroy buildings with his red lightning until a boat flies into his head and knocks him a bit revealed to be tossed by Godzilla. Cthulhu changed his focus to Godzilla as he attempt to shock the monster king and grab him with his tentacles however Godzilla breaks free and punches Cthulhu before ripping one of his wings off where Cthulhu triggers an illusions of the various monsters Godzilla fought before until the X-A Airships fire their Atom Smasher Cannons at the two. While it brought down Godzilla Cthulhu was unfazed by them, however Godzilla managed to absorb the beams of the Atom Smashers and fire an orange atomic breath at Cthulhu where it causes massive damage to Cthulhu and renders the Great Old One inactive thus Godzilla saves the world from Cthulhu.

- Godzilla was planned to fight Cthulhu in an scrapped 1994 Heisei film and an scrapped Infestation 2 crossover comic story Toho rejected.[1][2]
- The Monsterverse Titan Scylla is inspired by Cthulthu. She was even compared to Cthulhu in Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong by the Flash and Cyborg.
