Jesse Ramirez, also known as Cuchillo (Spanish for "The Knife"), is the titular main antagonist of the S.W.A.T. episode "Cuchillo".
He is an escaped crime boss who plans to kill the woman whose testimony put him in prison, and to kidnap and rape a sixteen-year-old girl he is obsessed with.
He was portrayed by Lobo Sebastian.
Biography[]
Cuchillo terrorized the Boyle Heights neighborhood of LA for years, until he was arrested by Jessica Cortez for murder, extortion and sexual assault of a child. He tried to intimidate Sofia Jimenez, who had seen him kill her neighbor, not to testify by having his men carve the word "RATA" into her young son's back, but Sofia testified anyway and Cuchillo was found guilty.
Cuchillo is transported to the East Los Angeles Courthouse to be sentenced to life imprisonment. His cousin Ramon Reyes kills a sheriff's deputy before giving Cuchillo a gun, and Cuchillo escapes with three other prisoners, killing another deputy and a civilian. He flees to a cabin owned by his aunt and Ramon says that he has arranged for a people smuggler to take them to Mexico. Cuchillo refuses to leave because he has unfinished business in the city.
He orders Ramon to kill Sofia for testifying against him. Meanwhile Cuchillo himself goes to the house of Ariel, a teenage girl he is obsessed with and wants for himself. He ties Ariel's father to a chair and begins torturing him so he will give his "blessing" for the two to be together. When LAPD SWAT arrive to capture him, Cuchillo stabs him in the leg before kidnapping Ariel and taking her to the cabin.
SWAT trace Cuchillo to the cabin. He shoots at them, before telling Ariel that both of them are going to see some stars before they die. Cuchillo then grabs Ariel and holds her as a human shield, forcing SWAT to stop firing so they don't kill her by mistake. As Sergeant Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson arrives in a helicopter, SWAT throw a smoke grenade into the cabin, forcing Cuchillo to come to the window to breathe. He brings Ariel with him to prevent SWAT from getting a clear shot, but Hondo manages to take aim at Cuchillo from the helicopter and shoots him dead, saving Ariel in the process.
