| ~ Cullen confronting Blake |
Cullen, also known as The Sigma Die Killer is a minor antagonist in the 2025 slasher mystery TV show Hell Motel.
He was a serial killer responsible for the frat massacre at Lake Oisin University in which Blake Williams was the only survivor.
He was played by Augustus Oicle. In-costume scenes as The Sigma Die Killer were portrayed by Chris Olson.
Biography[]
Cullen was part of a pledge group of 12 people who had joined Blake's fraternity during rush week.
It was common for pledges to be harassed with elaborated pranks that put them in rough situations, but Cullen was specifically targeted by Blake as his personal punching bag, outright sending other frat members to bully him in numerous methods, some involving getting him naked or using animals like goats for unknown means. Cullen would always be told to just "smile through it all", complete with a smile being painted on his face with lipstick or sometimes even using dog feces.
Cullen was forced to drop out school due to the harassment but to no avail, as Blake made sure to record all of his doings and post them on the internet for everyone to see. This would cost Cullen his job, as well as straining relations with his family.
Tired of life, he decides to return to Lake Oisin to carve smiles of his own into the Sigma Die fraternity.
Events in the show[]
Cullen killing Stefano.
Not much is known about The Sigma Die Killer for most of the show, only that he was a serial killer who slaughtered the entire Sigma Die fraternity in Lake Oisin University, leaving Blake Williams as the only survivor. He sells this story as an act of bravery, in which he managed to stab the killer and save himself from the massacre, although being unable to save his friends. Blake would go on to become a famous writer, selling books about his experience on that fateful day.
However, Episode 6, Guts and Glory would reveal what actually happened the day of the massacre. The episode starts with a masked murderer chasing Blake and his friend Stefano through the hall. They manage to lock themselves in a bedroom, but Blake loses his phone. The killer gets distracted with other victims hiding inside another room, so both Blake and Stef try to take their chance to escape, but the former decides to go to the basement to save his girlfriend, Farah, who is into hiding. They manage to reach the basement but Stefano is grabbed by the killer, who would then brutally murder him in front of a helpless Blake.
After Blake and Farah reunite, they manage to escape the fraternity house without the killer noticing but Farah sees that her friend Angelica is about to be murdered upstairs. Blake tries to convince her that she wouldn't make it, but she still decides to go back into the house to save her. Unfortunately for them it's already too late as they find an agonizing Angelica with a knife sticking in her gut, her lips carved to form a smile. Angelica begs them to get the knife out of her stomach but this causes her to start bleeding profusely, killing her. The couple listen to the killer returning to the bedroom so they hide under a bed. Before the killer could find them however, they are saved by a police officer who forces the attacker to confront him. The killer is apparently taken down by the officer but he noticed too late that he was wearing a kevlar vest, and he takes up this chance to slice the officer's throat.
Blake and Farah try to escape by using the police car, but they couldn't find a way to get the vehicle running. They soon find themselves trapped inside with the killer attempting to break in, but they succeed in evading him and return to the house. They try to make a run for it by going upstairs but the killer has them cornered. Farah manages to stab the masked murdered with his own weapon in a struggle, but the killer quickly takes back control of the situation. This is where he unmasks himself and explains to Blake his motivations, how he ruined his life and how now he would have to make a choice: His life or Farah's. Farah doesn't want to die, with Cullen himself admitting that she is innocent and encouraging Blake to man up for it, but Blake cowardly runs downstairs and leaves his girlfriend to die. Cullen would end up dying from his wounds, and Blake is regarded as a hero for "stopping" him.
Many years later, Blake is now a succesful writer, doing conferences about how he stopped the infamous Sigma Die Killer, hiding the truth from everyone. However, he has to live with serious PTSD as horrible visions of the mutilated ghost of Farah haunt him to the present day, knowing well that Cullen got the last laugh even with his death, as Blake had proved his point that he is a coward and a bad person.
