Commandant Cumberlayne Aresko, operating number LRC-01, is a supporting antagonist in Season One of Star Wars: Rebels. He was an officer of the Imperial Military during the Galactic Empire's occupation of the planet of Lothal.
He as assigned to the ground and helped maintain the Imperial occupation of the planet along with his partner, Myles Grint, where he was stationed in the planet's captial city and was responsible for training Imperial Cadets at the local academy.
He was voiced, like his partner Myles Grint, by David Shaughnessy.
Cumberlayn Aresko was born on the Outer Rim world of Lothal at some point in time prior to the rise of the Galactic Empire at the end of the Clone Wars. He was eventually either conscripted or joined the Imperial Military at some point in his life and eventually became a Commandant for the Academy for Young Imperials and was responsible for training new cadets for the Imperial Military along with Grit.
5 years before the Battle of Yavin, both Aresko and Grit held a celebration for Dhara Leonis after she was accepted into the academy. Her parents, Leo and Tepha Leonis were agricultural scientists and worked for the Empire's Ministry of Agriculture and was recently located to the Capital City. Dhara's younger brother, Zare, had also came to the academt and Aresko had given a speech there at the same time.
At some point during training, Dhara had mysteriously disappeared during training exercises in the Easthills, and Aresko had to tell her parents that she ran away and took all of her supplies with her, but that there was also no sign of struggle at all.
In response, Aresko put the entire academy on high alert and sent all Lothal Security Forces to spread out and search for Cadet Leonis and had Imperial customs search through the databases for any information about her.
