Curtis Brown is the overarching antagonist of the horror drama web series, Daisy Brown. He is the unseen father of the titular protagonist, who is responsible for the creations of Alan and Lithop and the majority of the story.
He was voiced by Julia Dapper’s own father.
Personality[]
Curtis Brown’s personality is left ambiguous in the story, with very few details shown, although according to Daisy, her father was a nice and loving father. However, Alan shares that Curtis was an abusive man who hated Daisy, blaming her for his wife’s death. In the subtitles shown through out the story shows that Curtis was destroyed from the death of his wife and seemed to have did not like Daisy due to it. He shows to have no qualms with murder, killing another presumed scientist who discovered his investigations.
In the voice tape that Curtis led Daisy, he does admit deep down he does in fact care for Daisy and love her. According to Julia Dapper, wither one of two interpretations can be true depending on what you want to believe. Either Curtis genuinely felt remorse for his actions, but died before he could turn his life around, or he did abandon Daisy and only left the voice recording to clear his mind.
Biography[]
Curtis was the father of Daisy Brown, who disappeared from her life at an unknown point in her life. It’s revealed that Curtis was a scientist who’s wife, Rose, died in childbirth, leading to Curtis spiraling and blaming Daisy on it. Soon enough, he started creating monsters in his basement, creating Alan and Lintop and killed a scientist for discovering it.
At an unknown time, Curtis lef a voice tape saying that he loves Daisy and went missing, never being seen by Daisy again. According to Julia Dapper, either one of the two things happen that the viewers can decide: Either Curtis left Daisy and left the voice recording to clear his mind, leaving to start a new life, or he felt remorse after making the recording, but was killed by the monsters in his basement, possibly being the corpse that they were eating that Daisy missed and didn’t recognize.
