Biography[]
Cuyler was a mechanic aboard the Ark who lost his wife who was floated by Chancellor Jaha. Because of this, he shows him a great grudge and is resentful towards this action. In return, he decides to join Diana Sydney in her rebellion and have a chance to live on Earth again.
During a meeting by councilor Marcus Kane, Cuyler lashes out at him and violently pushes him for sacrificing a hundred teenagers on the ground.
After Jaha himself makes a speech about the Arkers being able to return to Earth, Cuyler blames the Chancellor for his wife's death adding that he cannot understand her pain. Jaha then bursts out and yells that Wells, her own son, is dead and Cuyler looks down. This leads Diana to convince the population to trust the Chancellor but also that she can be reinstated in the Council, and Cuyler applauds.
On Unity Day, an explosion kills several people and Sydney is immediately accused about it. Cuyler is then interrogated by Kane in a cell but is freed by Lieutenant Graco and the two lock up Kane before joining the Exodus ship with Sydney. The rebels are then intercepted by Jaha, Kane and other guards who try to prevent them from leaving. Eventually, they fail and the ship takes off, breaking away from the Ark. However, interference from Mount Weather causes Exodus to crash and kills Cuyler, Diana, and the rest of her rebellion in the process.
