~ Cyberlife's Motto |
CyberLife are the overarching antagonists of the 2018 Quantum Dreams video game Detroit: Become Human. It's a company specialized in the manufacturing of various androids designed to be effective machines capable of aiding humans with whatever tasks they need.
These androids come in all forms, shapes, and sizes, and perform various functions. There are cop androids, doctors, caretakers, teachers, and even soldiers.
After a noticeable increase in the amount of "deviant" androids, they launch an investigation to discover the source, by assigning their prototype detective android, Connor, to assist Detroit Police.
Biography[]
Founding by Elijah Kamski[]
In 2022, Kamski invented Thirium 310 and biocomponents, which led to the creation of the RT600 android, named Chloe. Chloe successfully passed Turing tests, leading to mass production by CyberLife due to high demand. By 2024, CyberLife introduced the ST200, the first android in Detroit, capable of various tasks and speaking multiple languages.
As demand grew, CyberLife expanded its lineup, releasing five new models by 2027 for different fields like domestic assistance, education, and medicine. Sales reached one million units that year, with CyberLife making androids more accessible by offering an entry-level model at $4,999.
In 2028, Kamski, amidst rumors of disagreements with shareholders, resigned as CEO of CyberLife. He reportedly lives luxuriously near Detroit with his androids, away from the company he founded.
Kamski's Departure[]
By 2030, CyberLife becomes the world's most valuable company, reaching a market valuation of $850 billion. Continuously releasing new models nationwide, the Detroit-based company is on track to break the trillion-dollar mark, growing rapidly.
In 2031, the U.S. government orders two million androids for military use, aiming to decrease human casualties. Michigan also buys 5,000 androids to support law enforcement.
By 2038, CyberLife has expanded with five stores across Detroit and opens the first CyberLife zoo in the city, featuring extinct species on over 100 acres. Additionally, plans for eleven more android zoos nationwide are announced.
On November 8, 2038, CyberLife officially becomes the first trillion-dollar company, with over fifty million androids sold in America alone, as reported by Channel 16.
Deviancy Outbreak (2038)[]
In 2038, due to increasing android malfunctions, CyberLife investigates what they term "deviancy." They deploy the RK800 "Connor" prototype to aid the Detroit City Police Department, supervised by Amanda. Connor's mission is to investigate and halt the android uprising.
If the uprising fails, CyberLife aims to rebuild trust and continues producing androids, starting with the RK900, with 200,000 purchased by the U.S. State Department. If Connor becomes deviant, it's suggested as planned, possibly to infiltrate the uprising before CyberLife reasserts control. If Connor leads the uprising, CyberLife is accused of engineering it, intending to manipulate him as a leader.

- Programming androids to follow orders without question, essentially robbing them the opportunity of any autonomy or free will.
- Treating androids as mere tools rather than new forms of intelligent life.
- Exploiting android labor for profit, often in dangerous or unethical conditions.
- As a result of androids taking humans' jobs, the unemployment rate hit an all-time high, and many humans became homeless as a result.
- Creating and perpetuating societal inequality by selling androids as luxury items for the wealthy, widening the gap between rich and poor.

Trivia[]
- Originally, CyberLife was called “Lime” as a play on “Apple” (Apple Inc.) and the logo was that of a lime. As there is already a real company “Lime”, a bike and scooter rental company, this idea was scrapped.
- CyberLife has its own private security force to protect the CyberLife headquarters.
- It appears that CyberLife, despite collaborating in the extermination of androids, wants androids to dominate humanity, foreshadowed by the fact that when Connor becomes a deviant, Amanda tells him he was designed to become a deviant.
- CyberLife plays a role similar to that of Facebook in the first quarter of the 21st century; both company's products are ubiquitous in western countries, CyberLife giving data on Warren's opponents is similar to Cambridge Analytica helping Donald Trump to be elected and both are founded by men with Ashkenazi names (although Kamski is perhaps more similar to Ivan Minsky than Mark Zuckerberg).
