D.A. Sinclair is a supporting character in the Image Comics series Invincible and its animated adaptation of the same name.
He is a scientist that experiments on people and turns them into robotic zombie soldiers called "Reanimen". D.A. Sinclair first appears on Issue #20, where he is angry on why his first Reanimen he sent was a failure, and as such D.A. Sinclair comes up with an idea that he should turn living people into Reanimen, so that his robots can be stronger.
He was voiced by Ezra Miller in season one, who also played Kevin Khatchadourian in We Need to Talk about Kevin, Credence Barebone in the Fantastic Beasts film series, the Trashcan Man in the 2020 The Stand miniseries, and the Dark Flash in The Flash. From season two onwards, he is voiced by Eric Bauza, who also voiced Jack Spicer in Xiaolin Chronicles Albedo Galvan in Ben 10, Jimmy Pesto in Bob's Burgers, Bingo and Drooper in The Banana Splits, Tiger Claw in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and Marvin the Martian in Space Jam: A New Legacy and Tom Cat and Jerry Mouse in MultiVersus.

Issue #6[]
One of D.A. Sinclair's Reanimen robots goes in a rampage in the street. Mark Grayson who is in the attack, dresses up in his Invincible costume to prepare to fight the Reanimen. The Reanimen slaps both a police officer and Invincible. The Reanimen gets close to a woman, so Invincible takes the woman away from the Reanime, but the woman recklessly gets close to the Reanimen. Invincible takes the woman again from the Reanimen and the Reanimen commits suicide by running into a pole which has caused the Reanimen to explode.
The explosion of the Reanimen causes the police officer to get injured and the injured police officer is taken into an ambulance to get treatment. Invincible leaves the scene to remove his costume. Mark Grayson reunites with William Clockwell and William Clockwell asks Mark Grayson on he was not told of his superpowers. Mark Grayson becomes surprised that William Clockwell knows his identity as Invincible.
Issue #20[]
In college, D.A. Sinclair storms before a professor on how he finds school to be a waste of time towards his intellect. The professor orders D.A. Sinclair to sit down, so D.A. Sinclair sits down with the other students to learn. In the streets, one of D.A. Sinclair's Reanimen robots goes to the surface and terrorizes the innocent people in the street. Mark Grayson suits up into his Invincible suit to fight the Reanimen at the street, as Invincible flies the Reanimen in the sky before the Reanimen drives its fingers into Invincible's eyes. In response, Invincible drops the Reanimen and it explodes on the ground.
D.A. Sinclair moves his lab into a new location, and D.A. Sinclair notes that he is safe because his previous location had not been reported. D.A. Sinclair decides to use a living subject for his Reanimen, so that he could see what happens.
Issue #22[]
When Rick Sheridan is going into his apartment, D.A. Sinclair knocks him out with a baseball bat. In a clock tower, D.A. Sinclair is explaining about how he wanted to use his Reanimen robots to win a nobel prize by having the dead Reanimen robots reunite with their families. D.A. initially wanted to do good for the world, but D.A. Sinclair saw another use for his Reanimen, which is to turn them into weapons for war. D.A. Sinclair considers Rick Sheridan to be an honor of being his first subject. However, Rick Sheridan is crying when his body parts are replaced with robotic hands.
Issue #31[]
D.A. Sinclair is experimenting on a innocent person, and he attempts to calm down the person. D.A. Sinclair explains to his subject that he needed to cut the vocal cords of his subject, so that the subject would not scream. A few moments later Rick Sheridan comes to D.A. Sinclair and brings the Scientist another human. D.A. Sinclair scolds Rick Sheridan for coming late as Rick Sheridan would have potentially exposed him to the public. Rick Sheridan cries and D.A. Sinclair calms him by saying that he can create more Reanimen robots for the world.
Issue #36[]
Outside of Upstate University, Mark and William camp outside of their school to find out why homeless people are going missing. William disguises himself as a homeless person, so that Mark in his Invincible costume can track William incase the latter is kidnapped. William sleeps in a bench to make himself vulnerable while Invincible watches him, and one hour later, William is kidnapped by a Reanimen and is brought to the sewers. Invincible is able to follow them both, and upon following the Reanimen in the sewers, Invincible is ambushed by other Reanimen.
Invincible fights off the Reanimen that ambushed him, and William starts to panic. Invincible punches one of the Reanimen, and it is revealed to be Rick Sheridan. Invincible questions what happened to Rick Sheridan, but Rick Sheridan continues to fight Invincible alongside the other Reanimen. Invincible begs Rick Sheridan to snap out of his brainwashed state as William is about to be experimented on D.A. Sinclair. William tells D.A. Sinclair that Invincible will arrive and bust through the walls, as William starts to panic as Invincible is unable to fight off the Reanimen.
Issue #37[]
William starts to get worried and D.A. Sinclair injects William with a serum that paralyzes the latter. William screams for Mark to save him and Mark arrives by busting the floor. Invincible frees William from his cuffs, but Invincible is immediately attacked by the Reanimen. William realizes that his friend Rick Sheridan is attacking Invincible and William begs Rick Sheridan to stop fighting. Rick Sheridan stops fighting Invincible and focuses on listening to William.
William orders Rick Sheridan to attack the other Reanimen to defend Invincible and Rick Sheridan follows William's orders. Invincible is grateful for Rick Sheridan's help, and questions why William is not escaping. William explains to Invincible that D.A. Sinclair injected him with a serum that paralyzed him. Invincible lays William down on the ground and fights the Reanimen that are still fighting. Invincible eventually catches up to D.A. Sinclair and scolds him for what he has done.
D.A. Sinclair explains to Invincible that he is helping the world with his technology, but Invincible knocks D.A. Sinclair down by breaking his jaw. Cecil Stedman arrives to the scene and Invincible tells him that he just could not control himself when attacking D.A. Sinclair. Cecil Stedman is glad that Invincible has stopped D.A. Sinclair, but warns him to control his temper. In the background, D.A. Sinclair is being dragged in a portal to get medical help, as Cecil takes both William and Rick Sheridan to the portal to make sure they are able to recover.
In the aftermath of the situation, Cecil Stedman shows Mark on how Rick Sheridan had been recovering from the robot parts. This makes Mark angry towards what D.A. Sinclair has done and wishes he had done more than breaking D.A. Sinclair's jaw. Cecil calms Mark done and tells him that D.A. Sinclair got what he deserved. Cecil later visits D.A. Sinclair in prison and tells the scientist that the Reanimen he made is remarkable. D.A. Sinclair realizes that it was Cecil Stedman that covered the existence of his labs to the public and that Cecil Stedman did not want the law enforcement to find him.
D.A. Sinclair questions Cecil Stedman if he will be branded as a criminal, and Cecil gives D.A. Sinclair a chance to have his criminal records be hidden from the public if D.A. Sinclair accepts to work under him.
Issue #47[]
Upon working with the Global Defense Agency, Cecil Stedman is impressed with the work of D.A. Sinclair and D.A. Sinclair admits he enjoys helping the Global Defense Agency. Cecil leaves D.A. Sinclair with the Reanimen, so that he can deal with Oliver and before leaving Cecil Stedman praises D.A. Sinclair for his work. D.A. Sinclair hopes to not Cecil down and it is shown that D.A. Sinclair has built a lot of Reanimen from corpses.

Although D.A. Sinclair does not appear in this issue, he is mentioned by Rick Sheridan, who is traumatized by his experience with D.A. Sinclair when talking to Mark and William.
Issue #49[]
An angry Invincible is talking with Cecil on how criminals are not being punished and how Cecil is letting the go and have a job of a hero. D.A. Sinclair walks in during Invincible's and Cecil's conversation, and it only serves to anger Invincible on why D.A. Sinclair is not in jail. Cecil explains to Invincible that the Reanimen D.A. Sinclair made from corpses is able to save multiple innocent people and Cecil takes Invincible into a white room. Invincible continues to argue that D.A. Sinclair should be in prison, but Cecil surprises Invincible with the Reanimen D.A. Sinclair has made.
Issue #50[]
Cecil Stedman uses D.A. Sinclair's Reanimen to fight Invincible. Cecil is able to have Invincible flee the base by using an earpiece he put onto him and shocking him with loud sounds. Invincible lands on the base of the Guardians of the Globe and begs his friends to help him defeat Cecil. Cecil uses the Reanimen to attack the superheroes, and Rexsplode destroys Cecil's controller for Invincible's earpiece, which causes the sounds to continuously bring pain to Invincible's ears. The Reanimen army beats up Invincible during his weakest point, and is severely injured by them. Cecil orders D.A. Sinclair to stop the Reanimen, but D.A. Sinclair explains that it will take 5 minutes to disable the Reanimen. Invincible is able to take down the Reanimen once Robot is able to disable Invincible's earpiece.
Issue #62[]
Cecil forces D.A. Sinclair to hurry up in creating the alternate Invincible Reanimen because a powerful Viltrumite named Conquest is beating up Invincible. D.A. Sinclair that he is unable to finish building even a single Reanimen from the alternate Invincibles, as their Viltrumite skin is hard to penetrate with the tools of the Global Defense Agency. Cecil starts to worry about Conquest and prays that for god to help them in the battle.
Issue #65[]
D.A. Sinclair explains to Cecil that trying to create a Reanimen made from the alternate Invincibles is hard due to having to deal with the flesh tissue. D.A. Sinclair even feels as though that he was creating new tools to create those types of Reanimen. Cecil instead wants D.A. Sinclair to hurry up making the alternate Invincible Reanimen to prepare for future Viltrumite threats as Conquest nearly beat Invincible.
Issue #70.5[]
D.A. Sinclair closes his capsules that contain the alternate Invincible Reanimen, and his wife wonders what is happening. Invincible and Cecil are talking about how Invincible killed Rus Livingston during the Sequids attack, and Invincible questions Cecil on why they are going to D.A. Sinclair. Cecil Stedman explains to Invincible that even though D.A. Sinclair had committed crimes when experimenting on homeless people, D.A. Sinclair was able to reform himself during his time in the Global Defense Agency and D.A. Sinclair was even able to find love by being married to Justine. D.A. Sinclair admits that he is remorseful for his past actions and wishes to atone for his crimes by using his new Reanimen soldiers to protect the world.
Personality[]
In college, D.A. Sinclair is introduced as a arrogant student, as D.A. Sinclair states he has skipped school for four years as he believes school to be inferior to his intelligence. D.A. Sinclair even believes himself that he could teach students with his knowledge before he is forced to sit down by the professor. When experimenting his Reanimen robots, D.A. Sinclair hopes to see what would happen if a living person is turned into a Reanimen, and this gives D.A. Sinclair the motive to capture Rick Sheridan. Initially, D.A. Sinclair wanted to use his Reanimen robot corpses to reunite them with their families before he became power hungry in wanting to use his Reanimen robots as a powerful weapon for his army. D.A. Sinclair plans on turning living people into Reanimen robots so that they will become stronger while under his control.
When experimenting on people, D.A. Sinclair disregards the pain his victims feel and is annoyed when he hears them scream. To stop them from screaming, D.A. Sinclair injects them with a paralyzing serum rather than anesthesia to save money. He talks in a calm, polite manner towards them despite torturing them with his experiments. When D.A. Sinclair is about to experiment on William, he believes that he is improving humanity by turning them into his Reanimen robots, because he believes them to be stronger which shows how delusional D.A. Sinclair is. D.A. Sinclair is somewhat of a sadist, as he is happy to mutilate his victims in his experiments to turn them into Reanimen robots.
When William tells D.A. Sinclair about Invincible, D.A. Sinclair laughs off William's threats and questions on who Mark is. D.A. Sinclair suddenly gets surprised by Invincible arriving through the floor and immediately leaves the scene. Upon being cornered by Invincible, D.A. Sinclair attempts to justify his actions by saying that it will help humanity, but Invincible breaks his jaw in defiance. In prison, D.A. Sinclair questions Cecil on why the latter did not reveal his experiments to the world and why Cecil he is complementing his Reanimen robots. When Cecil gives D.A. Sinclair a chance to work for him, D.A. Sinclair accepts the offer off-screen.
With his new job, D.A. Sinclair is determined to impress Cecil Stedman with new Reanimen robots and is happy working for him. When D.A. Sinclair is creating the alternate Invincible Reanimen robots, Cecil wants him to release the Reanimen robots to fight Conquest. Unfortunately, D.A. Sinclair tells Cecil that creating the alternate Invincible Reanimen robots need time to finish which causes Cecil Stedman to worry about Conquest. In the aftermath of the fight against Conquest, Cecil orders D.A. Sinclair to work hard on the creating the alternate Invincible Reanimens and D.A. Sinclair complies with his orders. D.A. Sinclair is disappointed as he wanted to take the time to spend time with his wife "Justine" in the movies and dinner.
D.A. Sinclair meets with Invincible again and tells the superhero that he is sorry for the crimes he has done and wishes to reform by using his new Reanimen to help the world. D.A. Sinclair finds comfort that his new Reanimen is able to effectively defend the world from threats, and is congratulated by Invincible.

D.A. Sinclair first meets Rick Sheridan by knocking the latter out in his house and takes Rick Sheridan into his secret lab. D.A. Sinclair plans on turning Rick Sheridan into his first Reanimen, while at the same time D.A. Sinclair explains his motives to Rick Sheridan. While being operated by D.A. Sinclair, Rick Sheridan is crying from the pain of being turned into a Reanimen. As a Reanimen, Rick Sheridan brings a homeless person to D.A. Sinclair, but D.A. Sinclair scolds him for coming late into his lab. This causes Rick Sheridan to cry, but D.A. Sinclair reassures Rick Sheridan that he can make even more Reanimen to make him happy. After being turned back into a human, Rick Sheridan admits that he is traumatized with his experience with D.A. Sinclair when talking to Mark and William. With his trauma, Rick Sheridan admits that he can't sleep properly due to his nightmares from D.A. Sinclair.
William Clockwell[]
With multiple homeless people disappearing, William Clockwell disguises himself as a homeless person sleeping, so that his friend Invincible can track down the culprit that is taking away the homeless people. William sleeps in a couch and is eventually taken by D.A. Sinclair's Reanimen robot. When D.A. Sinclair prepares to experiment on William, William threatens D.A. Sinclair about how Invincible will stop him, but D.A. Sinclair does not take William's threats seriously. William then begs for his life for Invincible to save him and is glad that D.A. Sinclair is stopped.
Invincible[]
Invincible teams up with William Clockwell to find out where the homeless people have gone missing. Invincible follows the Reanimen that has taken William and fights the Reanimen when Invincible is ambushed by them. After fighting the Reanimen, Invincible meets D.A. Sinclair who is preparing to experiment on William. D.A. Sinclair attempts to justify his actions to Invincible, but Invincible breaks D.A. Sinclair's jaw due to the horrible actions of the scientist. Invincible regrets to losing his anger towards D.A. Sinclair, but his regret disappears and is replaced by rage upon finding out what D.A. Sinclair had done to Rick Sheridan. When Invincible finds out that D.A. Sinclair is working for Cecil, Invincible becomes outraged at Cecil due to how D.A. Sinclair is not being punished for his crimes in prison. Invincible's anger towards D.A. Sinclair disappears when he learns that D.A. Sinclair has remorse for his action and wishes to atone by working for the Global Defense Agency.
Cecil Stedman[]
D.A. Sinclair first meets Cecil in jail and Cecil notes that the Reanimen D.A. Sinclair made is impressive. D.A. Sinclair realizes that Cecil Stedman is the one that hid the existence of his labs and questions Cecil as to why he did that. Cecil tells D.A. Sinclair that the scientist can redeem himself if he decides to work for the Global Defense Agency. D.A. Sinclair becomes thankful for Cecil in accepting him and wishes to impress his boss by creating new Reanimen robots from corpses. During the fight with Conquest and Invincible, Cecil Stedman becomes desperate with D.A. Sinclair in hopes that the scientist has created a Reanimen from the corpses of the alternate Invincibles. D.A. Sinclair is unfortunately unable to create one in time due to the dense tissue's of the Reanimen which causes Cecil Stedman to panic. In the aftermath, Cecil Stedman hopes that D.A. Sinclair will be able to impress him in the future if the scientist is able to finish the alternate Invincible Reanimen robots and D.A. Sinclair prepares to work harder alongside his wife "Justine." When Invincible arrives, Cecil Stedman gives D.A. Sinclair a chance to say sorry to what he has done to Invincible.
Justine[]
D.A. Sinclair is married to Justine who works for the Global Defense Agency and is in love with her. D.A. Sinclair becomes disappointed with his work with the creation of the alternate Invincible Reanimen robots because he does not have the time to spend time with Justine. Cecil Stedman introduces Justine to Invincible, when D.A. Sinclair apologizes his crimes to Invincible and it turns out that D.A. Sinclair and Justine are expecting their child to be born.
