David Lamont "D.L." Dade is a villain from the Walker Texas Ranger episode "Blue Movies".
He was portrayed by the late Howard Keel.
Biography[]
D.L Dade was a respectable wealthy businessman known throughout Texas for his contributions to society, however behind it all he was a notorious crime boss who had his hands tied in various illegal operations ranging from bootlegging, to money laundering, and at one time making adult films, whom one of the actresses was an underage girl whose stage name was Candy Delight.
During this time Judge Radford discovered his connection to these crime organizations, and had set up a secret meeting with Alex Cahill and Cordell Walker to report these findings to them, but through an informant in Alex's office, Dade became aware of this and sent his old friend Sonny Lyle to silence him. Though, Lyle succeeded in killing the judge, he was captured by Walker.
Refusing to go down for crime of murdering a federal judge, Lyle decides to cooperate and starts confessing to the Texas Rangers about Dade's true identity and a number of his illegal operations, leading to multiple take-downs and arrests. However through his informant, Dade discovers the location of where Lyle is being held in protective custody and sends a helicopter where his men on-board succeeding in killing Lyle, thus silencing Lyle, and preventing the Rangers from being able to convict him.
Realizing they only have one hope of saving their case, Walker decides to bring down Dade through his former porno business through the crime of child pornography, as Candy Delight was technically under 18 during the production of these films. However, Dade is informed by his lawyer about what the Rangers intend to do, decides to eliminate her too. While talking to a strip club dancer known as Tanya, who is a friend of Candy, the Rangers realize that Dade's men are also after Candy as well, and recognizing there is an informant in Alex's office leaking information Dade, they decide to secretly set up a surveillance camera to learn the informant's identity.
Tanya is able to contact Candy, now a happily married woman know as Audrey Forrester (unaware one of the other dancers eavesdropped on her), to tell her what is happening. After helping them when they were attacked by Dade's men, Audrey personally contacts Walker and meets with him. There she asks Walker not to get her to testify, afraid of what this could do with the relationships she has with her family and friends, which he reluctantly agrees.
However, when Tanya is betrayed by her drug supplier while fleeing town, and murdered after divulging Audrey's location, Walker learns too late from Audrey's husband Phil that she had disappeared, as she was captured by Dade's men who were using a florist van. After confronting the strip club manager of where to find Audrey, Walker and Trivette head out by helicopter and locate the van by the pier. Dade's men attempt to drown Audrey but Walker jumps into the lake to cut her free from the ropes that she was tied with, while Trivette commandeers a port security boat to give chase, leading to their arrest.
In the end, Audrey agrees to testify and relocate through witness protection, and also thanks Walker for his help in lifting this huge weight off her shoulders, while Alex refuses the offer made by Dade's attorney on cutting a deal with the D.A.'s office, determined to bring down Dade for his crime of having her friend Judge Radford murdered. In addition, the Rangers also discover that Alex's law clerk Todd was Dade's informant with the camera footage, and Trivette personally arrests him as well for accepting Dade's bribes.

- Though they only appeared once on Walker Texas Ranger, the actors of Dade and Audrey "Candy Delight" Forrester, Howard Keel and Cathy Podewell were previously involved with Alexandra "Alex" Cahill's actress Sheree J. Wilson in the series Dallas.
- Though not directly stated, it was implied that Dade had a perverted interest in Audrey when she was younger, due to the fact it was mentioned by Dade that Lyle used to bring her over and that at her current age, she no longer interested him due to his interest in younger girls, suggesting he is a pedophile.
