Umibozu is the Golem-themed Youkai of the Youkai Army Corps and a minor antagonist in Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, serving as the main antagonist of the 50th episode.
He was voiced and played by Hisao Egawa in his first Super Sentai role. He would later voice VV Gorin in Gekisou Sentai Carranger, Wedding Dress Org in Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger, Bulldozerloid in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, Bag Shadow in Ressha Sentai ToQger, Raimon Gaorufang in Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger, and Hern in Mashin Sentai Kiramager. Outside of Super Sentai, he is most well known as Ogremon and Machinedramon in Digimon Adventure.

Daidarabotchi first came to be when humanity's negative emotions physically manifested and formed thier own group under the leadership of the most powerful of thier kind; Daimaou. Daidarabotchi was the younger brother of Daimaou and Yama-uba, the youngest of the three siblings and the uncle of Gashadokuro. Some 2000 years ago, Daimaou completely cut ties to his siblings because he feared that he would become too attached to them and lose his cruelty. In doing so, Daidarabotchi became hated and incredibly disrespected amongst the Yokai and they sought to regain respect within the group. At some point before Daimaou's initial capture, Daidarabotchi was killed and sealed away behind the Seal Door.
Kakuranger[]
Daidarabotchi is among the Yokai freed from the Seal Door by Kappa as Sandayuu Momochi watches. Unlike his Yokai compatriots though, Daidarabotchi is giant sized by default and simply projects illusions of his true or human form to maintain a facade. Despite this, he does not emerge as a threat until after all of the Minor Yokai are defeated and Daimaou has no other minions left.
By early 1995, Yama-uba and Daidarabotchi reunite with each other and join forces to start kidnapping children in a nearby village and holding them in Yama-uba's inn. After hearing of the kidnappings from a corn vendor, the Kakurangers investigate only to get lost thanks to a spell from Yama-uba and end up staying in her inn where Daidarabotchi gives them a cold welcome. Delighted with the heroes coming to thier lair, they meet with Daimaou in his Skull Castle where he is surprised to see them again after thier falling out so they promise to kill the Kakurangers and regain standing within the Yokai. That night, Saizou follows Daidarabotchi into the woods when he sees him about to kill a chicken but he vanishes so that Yama-uba can attack. Although he morphs and puts up a fight, the two Yokai are easily able to capture and replace him with a fake by morning.
The next morning, Daidarabotchi has Sasuke attack the others and he and Yama-uba are able to capture Jiraya and Seikai and substitute them for fakes. After Sasuke later kills the clones, he discovers Yama-uba's necklace from her human form and realises that the others are being held in the inn only to be ambushed by Daidarabotchi. Although the Yokai tries to crush him underfoot, Sasuke dodges and becomes God Saruder but is very quickly and easily overwhelmed until Sasuke summons Ninjaman to help who easily restrains the Yokai. Daidarabotchi quickly breaks free and knocks down Ninjaman only for Super Kakure Daishogun and Muteki Shogun to appear. An enraged Daidarabotchi charges only to be hit by Samuraiman's Samurai Raging Bomber and the Blazing Shogun Sword before being killed by Super Kakure Daishogun's Iron Fist Flying Finish.
Daidarabotchi is heard, along with all the other defeated Yokai, behind the Seal Door after Daimaou is finally sealed away by the Kakurangers. Reeling that they are now powerless in captivity, the Yokai all vow that they will one day be reborn and regain their power, cursing humanity.
Personality[]
In his human form, Daidarabotchi was a man of few words and was straight to the point when he did speak. In his true form, he was incredibly violent and aggressive and tried to kill the Kakurangers with sheer brute force. Despite this, he was shown to greatly love Daimaou and Yama-uba and even called out to them in his final moments.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: Daidarabotchi could knock up God Saruder's Twin Swords and send the Beast God flying both with single swings as well as knock away Ninjaman with a kick.
- Durability: Daidarabotchi withstood the Samurai Raging Bomber and Blazing Shogun Sword finishers without a scratch.
- Human Form: Daidarabotchi could both become and generate the illusion of a middle aged human man at will by instantly warping in and out of existence.
- Teleportation: Daidarabotchi could instantly teleport to any location at will by fading in and out of existence.
- Illusion Projection: Daidarabotchi could generate a blue ghostly image of himself into the sky as seen when he and Yama-uba attacked a boy.
- Illusion Generation: Daidarabotchi was able to generate false illusions of the four Kakurangers to trick the others.
- Looping Body: Since his entire body made up the mountain where Yama-uba's in was, Daidarabotchi's body forced his victims to always return to her building no matter where they ran so they could be captured.
- Elemental Control: Daidarabotchi could manipulate the elements for various effects.
- Vine Capture: Daidarabotchi could capture his victims by summoning vines to restrain them.
- Crevice Creation: Daidarabotchi created a massive crevice in the ground to knock down Sasuke.
- Fire Strikes: Daidarabotchi could generate massive waves of fire from the crevice to burn Sasuke.
- Elemental Control: Daidarabotchi could manipulate the elements for various effects.
- Explosion Generation: Daidarabotchi used an explosion to knock out Saizou so that he could be captured.

- Daidarabotchi was not adapted into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers but his suit was used for "Bonker" in Power Rangers In Space three years later.
