Daku Masashige is a major antagonist in the 2021 Roblox horror-game The Mimic, serving as one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Keiko Masashige) in Control's Book.
He is the husband of Keiko Masashige and the father of Yasu, who was cursed by Kintoru after meeting her in a parent teacher conference at Yasu's old high-school three years earlier.
Biography[]
Past[]
Daku was born in the Shōwa Period in 1963. At some point, he married Keiko, and later had a son named Yasu, who was born in 2001 during the Heisei Period. As he grew older, his legs began to deteriorate and he began to have trouble walking.
NOTE: The book 1 lore is being revamped, so this paragraph of the "past" section may or may not stop being canon.
At some point in 2019, Daku and his wife somehow met Kintoru, during a parent-teacher conference at Yasu's old high school, and both of them ended up being the latest victim's of the witch's curse.
Control's Book[]
Chapter 4[]
La Quinta Aztecs[]
Daku appears in the La Quinta Aztecs school where he (under Kintoru's curse) hunts Yasu down as he (Yasu) collects 13 butterfly spirits around the school. Yasu survives this encounter and is teleported to Kusonoki's memorial.
Saigomo's web[]
Daku appears again in Saigomo's web with his wife Keiko and her ancestors, all of which fell victim to Kintoru's curse.
Freedom[]
After Yasu slays Kintoru with the blessed blade, the souls of Daku, Keiko and the rest of Kintoru's victims are freed from their curse. Whilst Yasu's ancestors go to the afterlife, Keiko and Daku return to their normal bodies (this is because they were not cursed long enough to have died due to their curse) and continue their normal lives, having no recollection of the incident.
Appearance[]
Daku is a tall man with grey skin, hollow eyes and a wide smile covered in barbed wires. He has black hair and his attire consists of a double breasted suit. Underneath his suit, he wears a dark blouse paired with a white tie and a red rose on his chest. He also wears black trousers with white strips along with smart, black shoes.
Relationships[]
Keiko Masashige[]
Keiko is Daku's wife who he is implied to have had a loving relationship with and whom he also had his son, Yasu, with. They likely cared about each other deeply.
Yasu Masashige[]
Yasu is Daku's son and so he likely had a very close relationship with, when Yasu kills Kintoru Daku appears to not remember anything about the incident.
Kintoru[]
Although Daku thought Kintoru was just an ordinary lady, her curse is still unforgivable to him and his family.

- The name Daku (諾) means "agreement, assent"
- Daku is the only monster from Control's Chapter IV that does not appear in nightmare mode
- He most likely coughs while chasing you because of the cold that he caught before getting cursed.
- He is implied to have issues with walking, proven by the notes in Yasu's house and the wheelchair found in the school (which is replaced by the radio in nightmare mode)
