"Boss! Boss are you in there?".
~ Dalton's unnamed henchman calling out his boss Jack Dalton, not knowing that the latter is being held at gunpoint by his former protégé Dennis Rickman

Dalton's unnamed henchmen is a fictional character and minor antagonist of the British soap opera EastEnders, appearing in both May and July 2003 respectively.

He was portrayed by Tony Arunah Abbey.

History[]

He is a unnamed gangster from Albert Square in Walford, a fictional borough in East London, who served as the henchman for gangland boss Jack Dalton for an unknown amount of time prior to May 2003. During that time, he worked as a bodyguard and bouncer at Dalton's nightclub called "The Imperial Rooms" in order to cover up his affiliation with Dalton's criminal empire called The Firm.

Soon enough, Dalton plans to send his henchman to beat up local resident Spencer Moon in retribution for giving him fake money at his nightclub. Dalton's unnamed henchman is joined by two other gangsters as they set off to confront Spencer at the place where he is staying - The Queen Victoria public house, resided by Spencer's older brother Alfie Moon and his girlfriend Kat Slater. When they arrive, Dalton's unnamed henchman starts banging on the pub's door with the demand of being let inside. Alfie reluctantly obliges before Dalton's henchman demands to know where Spencer is hiding. Alfie claims that he is Spencer in order to protect the latter from harm. Dalton's unnamed henchman falls for the ruse but proceeds to beat up Alfie in order to carry out Dalton's demand.

Two months later in July 2003, the unnamed henchman is summoned by Dalton and his right-hand man Andy Hunter for a meeting. Dalton wants to deal with his protégé Dennis Rickman, who has demanded £20,000 from demand as payment for serving a 18-month prison sentence over his involvement in Dalton's gangland activities. Dalton plans to have Andy give Dennis £2,000 instead to test his loyalty, otherwise the unnamed henchman will beat him up in retaliation. Dennis defies his boss and so Andy tells him that he'll have to learn the hard way, giving way for the henchmen to beat up Dennis in retaliation for defying Dalton's expectations. Once Andy has left, the henchmen brandishes a weapon and goes to attack Dennis with it. They fight off-screen and Dennis wins, fleeing in a car as the henchmen limps away from the scene.

Not long afterwards, the henchmen reappears to give Dalton coffee in his office - not knowing that his boss is being held at gunpoint by Dennis there. Earlier on Dalton planned to have Dennis killed and ordered the square's local hardman, Phil Mitchell, to carry out the hit. However, Phil chose not to do it when Dennis offered to kill Dalton himself so that the two rivals would be free from their common gangland tormentor. When Dennis confronted Dalton at gunpoint, though, he wasn't expecting the unnamed henchmen to be helping out at the nightclub before closing time. Dennis forces Dalton to get rid of the henchman by ordering him to go home and call back tomorrow. At first the unnamed henchman is sceptical as he left his jacket in Dalton's office, but he eventually relents when Dalton is forced again by Dennis to get rid of him by claiming that he is in the middle of a private phone call.

Once the henchman has left, Dennis proceeds to check the hallway to see if that is the case. Dalton tells him that the henchman has left, to which Dennis responds by lecturing Dalton on the fact that he didn't tell him that the henchman was already there when he arrived. Dennis then proceeds to tale Dalton hostage and forces him to drive them into the woods near railway tracks - whereupon Dennis kills Dalton after learning that the latter has previously arranged for Dennis' illegitimate father Den Watts to be assassinated back in February 1989. In the aftermath of Dalton's murder, the unnamed henchman's fate is left unknown.
